Mmm yeah I suppose so, thanks!  :D

My speedo is acting funny now, the needle bounces and fluctuates, and you can hear a clicking noise from inside the instrument panel. I think its the speedo head, apparently it dries out after a while and needs re-oiling/re-greasing to stop the speedo being inaccurate as at the moment, my speedo is indicating around 5-10mph less than what I am actuallly doing. I'll take a look at it tomorrow though  ;)

I dont know but there half the bloody size than the standard Kymco gears, how can they be a gear-up kit when there half the size?? There going back though, a 4 Stroke 50 isnt going to go much faster than 50mph anyway so may as well give up!  >:(

I bought the rim tape from a local shop, they are stick on, pretty easy to do and they look nice, go well with the bike. I received my gear-up kit today, spents in total 5 hours taking off the back wheel and all the bits and bobs you need to gain access to the reduction gearing, only to find my original gears I have now are twice the size of the gear-up kit I ordered, they are tiny and do not fit in? I dont get it its a part for my bike and it doesnt fit??  ::)  :'( I dont think theres ever gonna be chance of getting s my Super 8 past the magical 48ishmph mark  :-\

Yeah you could be right there... I'll have to take some and post them, I've added a luggage box at the back, its massive! but it fits my helmet and all my other gear in it while Im at college, a 40 mile journey each day thats why I want a bit of top end lol as its all main straight roads. I'll get some pics very shortly! ....

Yeah its the standard gears in all 4 Stroke 139 QMA/QMB engines, the transmission gears can only get the scoot going to 45mph, thats where the restriction is. Thats why I went for this gear up kit. I take it these gears are from the Super 8 125 or something? I'd say it should be capable of the same top speed as the Super 8 125, around 60-65?

I've had my scoot tuned for quite a few months now... It has Racing/ulmimited CDI and a Polini variator derestricted drive boss, it has a K&N open air filter and to compensate also has been upjetted 5 sizes to an #85, a size #90 does improve the power a bit as well. I have 5.6g rollers in there as well which seem to work a treat. With all this my Super 8 manages about 45/47mph on a flat but you can hear the gearing on overload because there too small so a gear up kit would erase this and the scoot would carry on accelerating. I realise that I will sacrifice acceleration for top end but thats ok I just want to know what the scooter would be capable of at top end, down a hill and on a flat  ???

Super 8 / Gear up kit

Just a bit of advice please,

I bought a 10% gear up kit for my Super 8 and as advertised it takes away the restriction that the 139QMB engine has at about 45mph. So because these are bigger gears, how much faster would the scooter go, are we talking late 50's, late 60's??  ???

Super 8 / Reduction gearing
« on: October 31, 2010, 10:41:21 PM »
My scoot makes a strange kind of knocking/scratching noise when it hits 45mph. I have read on the forum that the S84T's can only reach this speed as the reduction gearing is too small or something. So I want to upgrade it to allow it to do 50+ easily as I am alos going to purchase an 80cc kit for it as well.

Can anyone suggest reduction gearing to solve the problem?? ???

Super 8 / Brake light only works when tail light is on!!??
« on: October 27, 2010, 09:48:17 PM »
Hi guys.. can any of you work this out?

My brake light has been playing up stupid with me the last few weeks and at the beginning of every ride I had to make sure the brake light was workingm if it wasnt I had to back the rear carrier down and it nudged something in the rear cluster unit and the brake light would work when the brake handles were pressed. However just now my brake light wont work at all. When my lights are OFF and the tail light is OFF my brake light will not work at all. But when I put either side lights or headlights ON and my tail light comes on, my brake light will also come on and stay ON without me even pressing the brake handles. So now at night Im riding around with my brake light constantly ON it wont go OFF.

Do any of you know what is wrong/what I can do??

Super 8 / Speedo not working??
« on: October 03, 2010, 03:08:53 PM »
Hi all,

My speedo is not working. It shows nothing during riding.. the needle doesnt move and also the mileage on my clock doesnt alter either. I had a look at the front wheel.. spinned it round a couple of times and there seems to be like crunching of the bearings inside.

Do any of you know how to rectify it??

Thanks.

I think its an 80. I went from an 80 to a 90 on my S84T.

Super 8 / Re: Scoot STILL refuses to go past 70km/h??

I experimented a bit before and decided to re-connect the pink wire loop to see what it would do.. it restricted the bike to 31mph.. I then took it back out and it allowed 43 mph.. I think it is the standard CDI that is programmed to allow no more than say 7000rpm or something.. buying a race CDI allows higher rpms and so more speed. I think that is the case now.. to just get a new race CDI when I can.. my current race CDI is buggared. Still wont start the bike.. its had it I think.. short circuited  :-\

Do any of you know of any "cheap" race CDI's for the Super 8? Dont fancy paying in the £115 region again  :P

Yeah maybe so.. think I'll just leave it  :-\

I was just looking for my lights to be a bit more "intensive" and like brighter not a bit yellowish.. lol
