I'm also considering recovering my seat with a Tan or Brown. Wondering what type of advice you can give me.

Twist n Scoot has been around for years and is a very respected Scooter shop with two locations in Atlanta. They're great for service, sales and gear.

How easy or hard is it to switch these out? I've watched a few online vids and it doesn't seem entirely out of my skill set. Anyone with experience?

Thanks for the input, partsguy.

By the way, I'm more of a tinkerer than a speed freak.

Also, monoplex, scootering is inherently dangerous. To suggest a bump up in speed would result in my own death is harsh and tactless.

Found this kit: http://www.scooterwest.com/items/?_pageCCS=t#page=/item_details/Malossi-Vaiator-Kit-For-Kymco-People-150/2323

How difficult/easy are these kits to install. I'm pretty handy, but I'm not mechanic.

Thanks Art. I want that Malossi kit, like yesterday. It seems like a great buy for the money. I'm really looking for more mid-level pick-up rather than top speed anyway.

People 150 / Need for speed.

I'm put 3000 kilometers on my People 150 in 3 months. I am totally addicted to riding it. I absolutely loathe driving my car to work now.

So...in the coming months I'm hoping to do some engine mods. From what I'm understanding it comes down to upgrading the exhaust and carb systems. Is that correct, I've run across many exhaust upgrades such as this, http://www.scooterworks.com/Leo-Vince-Handmade-ZX-Cromata-exhaust-Kymco-Top-Boy-P10108C712.aspx

But in all my searching I haven't really run across a variator/carb kit.

So, where do I look? And a better question would be, what's the optimum set-up?

I'd love to see a pic. I'm wondering how large this case looks on a People 150.

absolutely love the orange striping. wondering if I'm handy enough to do that on my own black/cream 150.

Just thought I would share this little vid I created on Friday.

I mounted a flip video cam to my front reflector. And did what I normally do. Enjoyed the hell out of the ride.

General Discussion / Good summer jacket
« on: July 29, 2010, 02:58:42 PM »
So, I've been shopping for a summer jacket. I've already settled on a Corazzo 5.0 for the upcoming fall and winter. Living in Atlanta, I fear that jacket is just too dang hot and heavy for summer use. From what I'm gathering I need a mesh jacket for summer riding. They seem to offer good breathability while still offering armor and protection. My problem is every mesh jacket I come across is just doesn't fit my style. They all look like a motorcyclist's jacket. I don't want to wear a crotch rocket jacket while scooting. I want something with simple, clean lines that doesn't cost a fortune. I know a protective jacket isn't supposed to be about style but to me the design of the jacket is very important. So, I'm looking for suggestions. I've searched the web and can't come close to what I'm looking for.

cheers, scooterchad

People 150 / Re: 1.8 Gallon tank...uhm, no it's not
« on: July 27, 2010, 02:50:21 PM »
You know, I've still yet to get more than 1.05 gallons in at a time. It's really not that big of a deal. I LOVE the bike. I'll just be sure to gas up more often because running out of gas wasn't fun.

I like the brown saddle. Personally I like the color combo all the way around.

About a month ago I bought a black/cream 150 and I can't ride it often enough.

Just curious, what's the max amount of gas you've put in at fill-up time? See my earlier post, I don't these tanks really hold 1.8 gallons.
