Super 8 / Re: Im at Wits end!!
« on: June 18, 2019, 09:57:12 PM »
Here we go again!!!!!

The polini kit I installed failed the rings in the kit ended up having a huge ring gap and hence no compression. So I replaced the rings getting only 110 PSI. The rings and the Piston & jug all fine, I don't understand why this is such a problem. No after riding around for about 5 mins im getting 60psi. Could this be the lower part?? Im not getting any play on the crankshaft. Anyone ever have these problems?

Which kit? Compression readings?  U installed it correctly?  The 2 dimples on the piston should be facing up where the intake is. If u bought Naraku kit it's most likely f***ed.

I figured it out......never ever buy Naraku kits they are absolutely garbage. The kit was flawed from the start, I bought a PolinI 70cc kit and it gave me a reading of 150 PSI. No issues now, time to tune this thing......Grrrrrr. Just a warning to all spend the extra few $$$ and buy a good kit.

It was a complete waste of time troubleshooting the issue.

Super 8 / Im at Wits end!!

I have a 2011 Super 8 2t and Ive had it almost, my aprilia Sr 50 isnt even this much trouble.

So I have replaced the top end and carb and im getting 70 PSI. Ive also replaced the reeds with new stock ones, all new gaskets. the crankshaft has no movement. Ive taken apart the head twice and the rings are lining up no issues no marks inside the jug. The only thing left is crank seals....Im going to do a leak down test tomorrow. But do any of you out there have any ideas???

Thanks! :( :( >:( >:(

For the price of what it will cost to re-sleeve, and the cost of these kits. Probably not worth it IMHO.

My 0.05$

Did you fix this issue? Im having a similar issue, only difference is Ive changed the carb to a 19mm one with auto choke from ebay. In my case I took out the reed cage and noticed my reeds were F%$#ED huge gap. Ive ordered a new one from Kymco, since there are no aftermarket replacement reeds and Kymco only sells the complete reed cage with reeds only.

Let me know what you did, Im curious.

Anyone know where I can buy reeds for this Scoot?
I looked at racing planet and scooter tuning. They weren't specificallyfor that scoot.

Im pretty sure it's the reeds. I didn't look because the previous owner said they were fine. In any case the gap in the reeds were huge like 1cm gap on one side and 0.5cm on the other side.

Wrong carb. I hope you didn't pay more than 25.00 us for that that inlet is for 2t oil. In any case you could try using it and just capping that off. If that is for a super 8 2t.

Super 8 / Kymco super 8 50 2t Help
« on: July 04, 2018, 02:42:46 AM »
Hey, there everyone just put back together a kymco 8 50 2t.
Put in a 70cc kit, new ebay 19mm carb.  I set the carb to 2 turns, it starts but in order for it to idle, the idle adjustment on the carb is turned in all the way.

I'm going to replace the plug but it looks fine.
Reeds will be next, no air leaks
Any ideas? I can Rev the scooter and ride it but just bothers me that the carb idle screw is all the was in

Thanks in advance.

Super 8 / Ebay 19mm Carb
« on: June 26, 2018, 06:07:53 PM »
Anyone have any experiences good or bad with these carbs?

I have a 2012 Kymco Super 8 50 2T

The scooter I own has a blown top end, replaced with a Naraku 70cc, previous owner modded the exhaust, it also had a K&N air intake.

I bought one and found out it was actually a stock 16mm, I got it to work but I have the idle screw all the way in and the fuel mix at 3 turns out just to get it to idle. I also had to adjust the float level to accept more gas, since the stock height it was set at was too high and the scooter was in fuel starvation mode.

Anyways I've ordered another 19mm carb and cross my fingers it works better than the one I have.

Can anyone here tell me what their approximate settings are for their carb I'm at Sea level in Raincouver BC Canada. When I bought my scooter also gave me a number of jets for the OEM carb 88,96,101,105 does anyone know if I can use these in the Ebay carbs?
