Downtown 300 / Re: Lighter rollers?

stock rollers are 15 .5 grams  ,.  you could try Dr. pulley  sliders 20/ 12    14 gram , that worked well for me ,

higher RPM starting,  then lower RPM at speed,  then I liked riding at speed with low RPM.,  I modded the variator to match the malossi variator  I found out 5 years later,.  I can ride at 65 MPH. at 6,000 RPM, and some-times as low as 5,000  RPM, with no head wind

I live in Brazil and I can not easily buy parts for this modification

I bought 15G rolls and reached 168 KMH of final speed but I would like to have the RPM reduced for fuel economy but with higher final speed ..

Like you on your scooter and where did you buy the parts?

A pretty important part of any scooter's performance and reliability. I would hesitate to put $9 knock-off parts in my 300cc scooter.
Stig

You're right. It's the same thing as buying an Iphone and using plastic cover for protection

But here in Brazil we come up with a problem. The purchasing power.

The minimum wage here is about 970 BLR

A set of Dr Pulley rollers costs 350 BLR

I'm afraid to use them

4 weigh 14G and 4 weigh 15G

I made the measurement on my wife's precision scale

I think if I decide to use them, I will install interleaved

14-15-14-15-14-15-14-15

What do you think about ????

... that's a good catch, paying attention to the distance traveled.

I can drive a total distance of about 350 km with a full tank to the iron pin inside the tank

When I reach the 280km mark, I drive for a gas station.

I told a friend that this panel is crazy. The information is there for a quick look

Out of character in my experience. De dee said something like it does not move at all then moves fast! The two DT's I have had both would go about 85 miles before the first of the 5 bars disappeared then would go about 115 miles to leave just one bar showing. The bike would travel generally about 230 miles on a full tank before it was very, very close to flame-out. This one in Brazil goes down two bars in 10 kilometers! That tells me the sender is bad. Float, pump and arm are OK but the variable resistor of the sensor is faulty. Keep the pump but change the resistor. Use parts out of a salvage yard because the thing comes as an expensive assembly.

This photo above is owned by a different owner. He opened the question on the Brazilian facebook of the Kymco representative in Brazil and we are talking about it.

I'll try to tell him what you told me here.

Thanks a lot for the help.

It's never accurate. It's better to rely on distance travelled.

That's what we all do here.

I for example, when I go to fuel, I set the trip A to 00.00.

I can drive a total distance of about 350 km with a full tank to the iron pin inside the tank

When I reach the 280km mark, I drive for a gas station.

If you look at the shape of the gas tank, you'll see it's pretty irregular:

https://www.oemmotorparts.com/fiche-l/KYMCO_Downtown%20300%20i%20ABS_Fuel%20%20tank.png

Most likely there's no way for that float on the sender to actually reach the very top.

So first the fuel level needs to go down to a point where the sender will even start to register that fuel was used.
Then, the tank is wider at the top than at the base. So unless the sender goes through some kind of processing (not sure), you'll see an acceleration in how quickly the bars fall relative to the actual amount of fuel used.

So all of us will have this unpredictable mark because of the gas tank being deformed ??

the gas bars go down slow  for 200 Km. after that it goes fast,  300 Km. to 340 Km. empty,  the most at 80 Kmph I got 410 Km.  riding on country roads,  no traffic,    on my downtown 300i ,

When I opened the topic, it was to know if in the land of you, this wrong mark happens as here. The autonomy of the bike, depends a lot on the quality of the fuel and especially how we drive it on the streets. I wanted to understand if the markers in other countries are also inaccurate  ;D

Here in Brazil we are all having problems with the fuel marker. How is the measurement of you world out?

Sounded clever, but I found this:
http://www.fuelexpert.co.za/canirunavgas.php

In any case, best not to put any more lead into the environment, especially unnecessarily.

Regarding the rollers, they'll improve acceleration but probably won't give you any more speed.
Not like I read about that gasoline aviation

I found 17G rollers, would that work?

What ?

find a airport and get some av. gas good for high compr. engines 12 - 1  piaggio 350  or downtown 300 10 - 1   I think I should try it ,  got to check out the flying club,

I understood your words, but I did not understand what they mean .. All the gasoline in my country has the same mix.

I changed the original 4 halogen of my DT, by two pairs of Chinese brand 6C

In my eyes, they changed from water to wine ...

I can see about 400 meters ahead

Low

High

I do not dare to add anything to gasoline to get better numbers ..

I'm too scared to damage the motorcycle

23 km/l is about 54 m/gallon which is pretty low I agree. What are the octane numbers for your fuel?

Your English is fine! Google translator is working well!

Gasoline in Brazil is not pure. As stupid as it may seem, here we have 750ml of gasoline every 1 liter.
25% of the total are solvents, detergents and alcohol (ethanol) that prevents sugar cane.    :-\

The fuel I use has 87 octane  :-X
