The "OIL SERVICE" light needs to be manually turned off.

I have done it on mine, you need to go to the fourth screen as follow

(You will need to hold the button for 2 seconds approx.)
Press the ADJ button once and it will take you from the Odometer screen to the TRIP A screen
Press the ADJ button once and it will take you from the TRIP A screen to the TRIP B screen
Press the ADJ button once and it will take you from the TRIP B screen to "mileage since last service" that's how I call it

Once you are on this screen press both buttons "MODE" + "ADJ" until the counter is reset back to zero, the "oil service" light will be switched off.

The only logic that I see is that they want the reader to be sure that they have not forgotten about one of the two possible scenarios.

The belt for our DT is quite expensive, Malossi started selling this year a belt for the DT reference 6115277. So far I have only been able to locate them in Frace for 70 Euros + delivery. You may want to contact Malossi USA and enquire for it as it is half the price of the mitsuboshi.

Hi modmaster,

The People Gti is knows as Shadow in Asia so this might have led to confusion, as you can see in this link they use the 20x12 rollers and also you can find a lot of information about the experience with 14grams and 15grams

Hope it helps

How much oil did you put in? I just changed mine and put in 1.5 L. This is also the amount my service manual calls for.

Mine was happy to take 1.6 L. I did let the old oil drain for quite a while.

Wow, I wish I had a Schuberth helmet to be able to ignore these noises. I had the same noise coming from the transmission area and it all got sorted with the Dr. Pulley clutch.

Hi Cortez,

I just noticed a noise on your first video (stock) at 0:03, did you do something to the clutch to get rid of it? on the second video is gone.

You are a couple of inches taller than me and 10 lbs heavier than me, I use my Downtown for the same description you are giving us, everyday in town riding and weekend trips outside the city. The DT can do it all without hesitation, as far as I know the DT is more fuel efficient and costs less than the Xciting, two very good reasons for choosing the DT. But I would recommend you to go and look at them, feel them, sit on them for a while, go for a test ride if you can and then make up your mind.

As a Downtown owner for almost a year (11,000km on the odometer) I can tell you that I enjoy riding it and feel safe, there are certain areas that could be better/improved but I guess there isn't a perfect bike out there. Overall I am really happy with it and I am not considering changing it for the near future.

I live in London UK and it is pretty flat, my weight is 75 kg = 11.81 stones, pretty average but still get crap FC.

Looking at the Fuelly website is interesting that some of us EU customers get bad FC when compared to the American guys. I have taken readings during the summer and winter and it doesn't change much with the exception of long trips.

Not sure what can be so different between their scooters and ours?

I just checked the manual, it just says CR7E, which is the "normal" plug, and the 'IX'
stands for Iridium, so I figured that's all the info you need to buy one.

Thanks, 10km service is approaching, will get it change then.

Yeh, I have the upgraded one and my rev counter will no go further than 7800 no matter what, I know that mine is 29HP not sure if the HP affects the revs (not that technical)

you have a slight pulse and this usually is the ECU or plug. I would go with a high flow air filter and the CR7EIX plug. The reason for the plug is the spark location of the stock plug is not consistent. It can wonder from side to side of the electrode causing an inconsistent plume. Since the ECU relies on sensors this can send the ECU on a timing hunt. The same can be true of air flow and a good air filter can cure that as well.

Lastly you may want to try a higher octane and/or quality fuel. Fuel can cause all kinds of issues with these small high compressing engines.

Tanware, (CR7EIX plug) is there an specific reference for our scooter?

@Cortez

Parts 22110 and 22300 are different from one model to the other, the rest is the same
