Downtown 300 / Re: What is your top-speed on your DTown?
« on: September 14, 2019, 08:45:32 PM »
Which country has 80mph speed limit?
And you HOLD your 300 Kymco at 93+mph?
Stig

85mph on certain toll roads (Texas)

It's stated from law enforcement the wrecks are not pretty on this section of road

It's just the opposite in Texas (mainly in Austin)
Left lane is for texting(or Diesel pickups)
Right lane is left open so people can pull onto a 75mph highway at 50mph
Center two lanes are stacked up with people who don't know what to do
Entrance/Exit ramps are slow so you can start or finish your text
Turning or exiting from the left lane to a right turn on a three lane road is permitted
as long as you're not speeding

Motorcyclists do whatever they can to dodge the bullet (or texter)
(they allow bicyclists to ride on 70mph two lane roads down here)

Thats why I asked...why would you take whole pipe off?
This rear tire replacement is a pain in the ass...two different pullers, new bearing for rear fork, two seals....
Funny thing is dealer had gasket in stock for final drive. (bearings failing in final drive)

Kymco parts catalog has all the dimensions and numbers(6304,6204,etc) of all bearings and seals.  300GTi uses TPI bearings throughout

Technical | How To / Re: Fuel requirement?
« on: February 05, 2019, 01:29:21 AM »
Carbureted bikes don't have catalytic converters
(hence no exhaust damage)
Recommending 91 RON is a CYA warranty issue for KYMCO
(reduces possibility of knock or ping damage)
KYMCO recommends certain gas so the engine will provide advertised HP/Torque ratings
You may never here a Fuel Injected Kymco ping or knock. The ECU may be reading the "spark" and backing off ignition timing
before it actually pre-detonates. I don't know if KYMCO has this programmed into the ECU or not. Somebody could scope and dyno this out?
I doubt if a CDI box(carbureted) has this much control.
When is the last time you heard a motorcycle engine knock or ping?

Agility 125 / Re: where is placed the solenoid?
« on: December 07, 2018, 09:47:58 PM »
It only has a relay no solenoid. A solenoid is not the same as a relay...........Good Luck

People GT 300i / Re: Maintenance: Miles or Months
« on: December 06, 2018, 10:28:42 PM »
Years...not months
10k not 3k

Not needed

oil/filter every 5k or once a year

A spark plug only lasts 6000 miles??
(were not talking Chumpion spark plugs here)

Kymco maintenance is a  profit after sale tactic
