General Discussion / Re: We need a group for the Xtown
« on: June 09, 2020, 03:29:29 PM »
We have been requesting a heading for the X Town series for a long time. I bought mine fall of 2018 and joined the forum then. Seems like pure neglect not to represent the latest scooter offerings from Kymco in the USA. For that reason I rarely come here anymore.

General Discussion / Re: Compare: Burgman 400 vs 2019 XTown 300i

Glad I found this post in my google search. I own a 2018 Kymco Xtown 300i and was just curious how it compares to the Burgman 400.

I'll forward the results to the Admin. in December
Stig.

Stig, any update on getting an X Town 300 subheading? It seems kind of ridiculous that this bike has been out over a year now and is one of the few current models sold yet we don't have a subheading to discuss it!

Great pictures and I know great memories! I know you got may more than your money's worth out of this scooter. Nice that you sold it to folks you know so you can still keep tabs on it.

General Discussion / Re: Anyone own a 300cc Internet Scooter?

About 15 years ago I bought a Linhai 250 or 260cc (I forget which) that you can still buy some of new in crates. It has the Chinese licensed Yamaha clone engine. My wife never took to riding so I sold it after a year or two but while we had it I had a lot of fun on it. It always started right up and never had any issues. Would get up to 70 mph on the highway. When I got the fever last year for a bike or scooter a local dealer had two of these. One assembled already and one in the crate. It hink they were new 2008 or 2010 models. He wanted $2600 I think for them which was less than I paid for the one I had 15 years ago. I think I paid $3,000 at the time. If I had not run across my barely used 2018 Kymco X Town 300i for such a bargain I would have bought a Chinese scooter again.

General Discussion / Re: Creat a subheading for your new Kymco model
« on: March 18, 2019, 03:26:16 AM »
It is ridiculous that this forum does not have headings for the newer Kyco scooters that have been out for more than a year now. I basicly don't visit much anymore because I feel it clearly does not care about owners of newer models such as myself. I am enjoying my X Towon 300i but would appreciate a little more love from the admins of this forum!

General Discussion / Re: Kymco Forum on Tapatalk
« on: November 07, 2018, 01:54:00 PM »
My Kymco forum feed keeps disappearing off of Tapatalk. I can then find the forum on my phone and it will ask me if I want to view it in Tapatalk which I do. Once I get to Tapatalk I add the feed then next time it doesn't show up. This has only started happening recently. It used to show up there with no problem.

Eye Candy | Videos and Pics / My new X Town 300i - Unbelievable Deal
« on: November 03, 2018, 03:32:15 PM »
Last week while on a business trip to a city about 4 hours away I decided to see what scooters might be for sale there. I ran across a used 2018 X Town 300i with about 890 miles on it for what seemed like a bargain prie of $2999. On my way out of trown I swung by the motorcycle dealership (they carry Kymco and a high end European brand motorcycle). The scooter looked great and even had a trunk already installed.  Also still 15 months of Kymco warranty left and this was the original selling dealer so I was able to confirm the 600 mile break in service had been done there.

It was on consignment from a guy who had moved into an apartment from a home and no longer had a place to keep it (more to the story but I won't go into it here). Although a great deal with winter coming on where I live I knew for all practical purposes it would just be sitting in my garage until Spring except for the odd warm day here and there (I am not a cold weather rider - I have a perfectly good vehicle for that! LOL) After some thought I emailed the dealership and made an offer that would make the deal just too good to refuse for me. They countered and then I countered and at the end of the day I bought this scooter for $2600!!!!

Yesterday I borrowed my son's pickup and drove 4 hours to go pick it up and bring it home. Here is a pic of it outside my garage after we unloaded it. It runs great. Driving it home last night about 5 miles on a country highway from my son's home I was surprised how quickly and with so little throttle it was up to 55 mph! I now have just under 100 miles to hit the 1,.000 mile mark where the break in restrictions will be gone and I can see what she can really do on the highway.

I have been enjoying this forum for a little while as an observer and now will get to participate as an owner. Now let's get that X Town 300i thead / header up and going for us new owners!

Downtown 300 / Re: How come no XTown 300?
« on: November 01, 2018, 02:55:01 AM »
I bought an XTown 300 several months ago, after owning two Super 8, 150's.
Love them all, but I'd like to see a page here for the XTown line.
About my only complaint has been the windscreen design. I'm 5' 11" and get a wind blast right in the face.
I looked into getting another screen, but couldn't find anyone making one, so I bought a Puig, clamp on, air blade from Rev Zilla. Best $79. dollars I've ever spent.
It only raises the distance about 3 inches, but creates a venturi effect, forcing the air stream between the screen & blade, moving it higher, and now over my head.
Before it was downright uncomfortable at speed, but now, I only get slight buffeting around my ears.
The only drawback is above 65 MPH, there's a bit of a Wooshing noise created.
I believe I am about to be the proud owner of a 2018 X Town 300i in the next few days.  I am just  5'7" so it sounds like the factory windscreen may work for me.

Don't forget the new X Town 300i. I am a new member and was surprised not to see a heading for it and the Xciting 400i. I am hoping by this weekend to be the owner of a 2018 X Town 300i and look forward to participating in this forum!

I enjoyed your review on youtube. There are so few about this scooter so it was great to see your first hand opinion and the features you pointed out.
