Well as the story goes, "the times, they are a changing"....Got a call back from two separate folks at the mother ship yesterday and the party line now is that the 12 month warranty is broken up into different time periods....6 months bumper to bumper, then the next 3 months are drive train, then the last 3 months are engine only....What a crock....I also talked to representative from Cornerstone, as the mother ship indicated that they do not dabble in extended warranties at all...
I knew that the Cornerstone call was not going to go well when the representative asked me if I "was a dealer, or Just a Customer"...They would not give me any info on any of the plans, saying that it was privileged information between them and the dealer. Too late in the day by the time I got to them due to time difference between East coast and MDT to pursue it further, so I will have to wait til Monday to get with my dealer and see if they have even heard of Cornerstone.....He had indicated that he had not sold any extended warranties to this date so I kinda doubt that he is even signed up with Cornerstone. Ah well, as the stomach turns....Not real thrilled with the experience at this point....They still have not owned up the 25% difference in the speedometer accuracy problem either. Although my machine has not given me trouble yet, I am less than satisfied with the Kymco experience. The folks at Kymco indicated that there was no way to offer a 12 month warranty (complete) on an off-road vehicle as there are so many ways of breaking it when off roading....I still have not been able to find paperwork saying the warranty terms which they are now hanging their hat...Only thing I have found is the complete 12 month warranty indication.... Kinda makes you wonder. Anyway am still waiting for one more person to get back to me from the mother ship to see if they will be allowed to honor the warranty they have in print.....
I wonder if folks who buy Can-Am, Polaris, Arctic Cat etc have these issues??
