People s200 / Re: Rear tire locked up
« on: August 06, 2015, 02:57:19 AM »
Problem fixed. Impact wrench to rear tire to remove tire, never got to the point of removal. Wheel started free spinning after massive vibrations of air wrench. Must have been the brake shoes jammed. Readjusted brakes...

I wonder if you have a problem at all.... The scooter will dim the headlights when the engine is at slow idle as a normal operations process. Pay attention to the idle sped when it happens.

People s200 / Rear tire locked up

Ok all you kymco gurus. My wife's people s200 rear tire is locked up solid! It was fine until I washed it and went on a short ride. I was careful not to wet the working areas of the scooter and did not wash the drive assembly. Any suggestions on where to start taking this thing apart. ----- brakes or drive train ---- thanks

If your deaf you never have to worry about noise! just try fitting a cochlear implant head piece under a helmet!

O.K. so I know this is an older thread.... but.... in many states the use of ear buds or head phones is illeagal. single bluetooth is ok. this is so that you can hear the po po pulling you over.... if you wear hearing aids you must carry spare batteries...not many cops know that.... now the fun stuff!!! if you are DEAF all you need is two outside mirrors!if you wear cochlear implants you are still deaf.. so deaf rules apply. JUST A BIT OF KNOWLAGE FROM A DEAF RIDER WITH A CLASS A LICENSE WITH FULL ENDORSEMENTS (HAZMAT, TANKER, EXPLOSIVES)

Technical | How To / Re: electrical fault

I had some of the same issues on a people s 200. I found that the battery had a week cell and it still showed 12.5 volts, just not enough amps. Also check for ground faults between battery, starter, and frame. I used a pair of jumper cables to bypass each area and found the problem. also check starter wiring for faults. All i did for this was to go through every connecter and pulled and repluged after using dielectric grease. also a good idea for all electric connections.

o.k.  I got the scooter started.... when the scooter is off the battery shows @13 volts, When the scooter is running at idle it shows 9 volts and when the engine is reved the best i can get is 12.5volts.

weak battery? I.E. not enough amps? of is this a problem with the rectifyer?

thanks in advance to whoever helps me with ideas on this issue!!

Thanks for the hint about the harness near the front end. Thats one i need to check out. Its got to be something like that because as I was working on it today, the problem got a little better( a bit more power to the front end) for  reasons I cant figure out otherwise. I still cant find the frame to engine ground but when I check for that it seems o.k.------well, i'll start ripping off the harness covers on my next day off!

Thanks for all the help!

the battery is kept on a charger when not in use and is reading 14+ volts.  I have even tried to jump start the scooter with my harley and my truck. I am still going twards the starter seln. as it should click when the key is turned on but it does not make any noise. i"ll have to wait till someon else is home to verify this to me as I am hard of hearing. I know from past experiance that I should be able to feel the click and I dont
sorry bout the spelling -----in ahurry

Battery is new and good, all connections are tight and clean, the part im looking at now is the starter solenoid, it is the only part that covers all three parts of my issues , 1-brake light switch.2- powerto the front end. 3- faileur to engage the starter,

i've got an 08 that started off with what seemed like ground problems and i think that was part of the problem but as time went on the issue of the starting has gotten worse, every time i go to start the bike it gets weeker on elec power in the front end.... no lights ect. no start. now its got no power at all to the fron† of †he harness .   any help with which part would slowly burn out and cause this? at this time im starting to check parts however im lousy with a meter and elec. issues. i do have a complete manual but could use some real help////thanks
aslo this may or may not be a issue, the bike was blown over by a strong wind and almost fliped totaly over .
I get a dash light when the ignition is on but it dies when i grab the front brake.

thanks Zombie!! I gave it some thought today at work and I know how to find the fault..... a pair of jumper cables should do the trick and test the ground in both places.( bypass ground, if it works right then  I know which ground is bad)!
