Art (or another member of the commuinity) I realize this topic has been dormant for over a year, but would someone be so kind as to update the links as per REPLY#5. I am finally getting around to doing the mods and need the pics to guide me home

Thanks

People 50 / Upgrade Kit - Big Bore to 90cc
« on: March 11, 2011, 01:13:15 AM »
I have been advjsed that my Kymco  People 50 2T is only upgradeable in terms
of the Bore to 70cc as opposed to 90cc as per the link.

Couple of questions

1. Is 70cc the highest capacity in terms of an upgrade
2. What is the best "kit" for upgrading not only the engine block but all other meaningful aspects of the scooters so as to maximize performance?

Thank you

Technical | How To / Re: People 50 - CDI restricted?

Thanks Ezrae. Sounds like we are all in the same boat. I am out ideas - short of the big bore mod - that would generate any significant performance gains. I am very curious however as to what the mods you just outlined do for you. I am open to just about anything (although I would like to avoid the big bore mod if possible). Finally, I suspect you are right in that as best I can figure the CDI has been derestricted since '03 or so. Of course I would love to be wrong in that assertion!!

Did the community ever resolve the CDI issue? I have a 2009 People 50 (two stroke) and am unable to achieve a top speed above 35MPH. I have had the CVT derestricted, but I am unsure if a further destriction Mod can be performed to the CDI? I have researched the matter and all I can find is information relating to 2003 year models and before. Does a member of the community know if any performance enhancements can be attained by "Modding" the CDI for the 2009 model year?

THANKS!!!

Art, thank you for your thorough reply.

I forgot to mention that I am a complete neophyte to the world of scooting. Can you perhaps reframe your response in layman's terms? Apologies for being an ignoramus, but alas such is the case.  Is there a step by step guide in terms of the specifics you provided?

Thanks for helping out an amateur in need.

Outside of derestricting, can any member of the community describe what performance upgrades offer the most "bang for your buck"? I am aware that a big bore kit exists, but how 'bout exhaust upgrades, etc., etc.

I will probably go the route of the big bore kit, but wanted to ping the community for your thoughts. For instance, what about this?

Kymco News / Kymco Promotion

Does any member of the community know what scooters are eligible for the current promotion (in this case cash back) as per the attached link?

I am interested in availing myself to the program with respect to an impending purchase of a 2009 People 50. The Kymco retailer I am dealing with is unsure as to the particulars of the program. Thank you!
