Agility 125 / Re: Loss of Power, Stall After Bumps
« on: August 12, 2023, 12:09:59 PM »
T6 is popular with scooter, ATV, small engine owners so I started using it about 10 years ago.

diesel engines have no spark plug so maybe oil designed generally for diesel is part of the problem. I am a late comer to this area of engine maintenance so I will add a link to what I am currently reading for anyone who is interested. I am sure many of you are already aware of this material.

Maybe it's the Shell Rotella T6 synthetic 5W-40 diesel engine oil.
a friend is a former Toro commercial lawn mower sales rep. He says nearly everyone uses the wrong kind of engine oil in their mowers. This is an air cooled engine 4 stroke not a diesel. and if your cap is loose like you mentioned that would be another concern. Doubt the plug is the problem. Small air cooled engines need different additives than a diesel engine does. My mp3 400 revs quite high, over 5000 rpm and needs a certain kind of oil. Dont' see why the kymco 125 wouldn't do better with motorcycle oil. or something better suited than diesel oil. Diesels don't rev very high.

I use Shell Rotella T6 synthetic 5W-40 diesel engine oil and add 2oz of Techron to the gas tank at every oil change. Is it possible these are creating high temperatures that are eroding the Iridium plugs?

No.
please send all your worn out iridium plugs to me. thank you.

new bulb much better but needs more light pointed to center of road. high beam still focused too high down the road so useless. will try another soon and report back.  :-\

that looks like the right bulb designation. found this for 12 bucks amazon will get next week and let everyone know immediately if its better than oem which wasn't safe. But with the add on offroad light that I put on the lighting setup is very safe and allows me to travel at night. It is hard to put into words how much better good lighting helps at night. With this new bulb coming in I hope only have to use the off road light as a backup but honestly have not had any drivers flashing their lights at me when using it. I have only used it pointing down so they are not directly affected by 15 degree light spread. I will let everyone know how this new bulb works.

Agility 125 / Re: Anti Seize on Bolts?
« on: July 06, 2023, 03:52:43 PM »
Heres a great video. Grease works great, looks like permatex is best for anti seize but all the products tested had their strong points. He fills up a lawn mower crankcase with aluminum based anti seize to check for seize. grease is adequate I think for your problem. pull out your dipstick and dab it on the bolt.

not sure but probably been off for 10k miles.
I would check a parts diagram. if the fuel petcock system diaphragm has a hole or tear in it the vacuum system wont pull fuel out of tank. I don't even know if this bike has one as I have never needed to look. happened on 2 other bikes i had. easy check. seems like a fuel issue tho. or a carb problem. or a vacuum problem.

maybe  clean tank completely so filter or line doesn't get clogged. or maybe vacuum line is clogged. bypass all the petcock and filter to see if anything amiss.

new setup. I can use both oem lighting and when on back roads by myself flip on the off road light. 500 percent or more light. I know it looks like hell but who cares. just cut out a section of front plastic. there is a small bracket enough to mount a frame for lighting. I may eventually find a legal light to install but it is safe to ride when on a dark road at night. plus I can reach down with left hand and adjust it high or low quite easily. I connected directly to battery through a handlebar switch. I have a 200 cca battery installed as well on bike as oem is lame and part of the problem.

sorry about the earlier ranting. this was such an easy fix and I get so upset with being sold something that is blatantly crap that I forget how much effort is put into the rest of the bike, which is top notch. fix your lighting now people and show some photos so others can feel empowered. It cost about 25 dollars to vastly improve the light setup.

my first agility had fuel tank issues. I loosened up the cap just enough to let tank pressure equalize. It may not be your problem but something easy to check. seemed to only happen when hot.

yep, just a company that is trying to save as much money as possible and safety is not their concern. There is not a person anywhere that would find this set up desireable or even adequate. Even the low placement of the light is a poor decision. That combined with a dim light and the worst reflector ever designed makes this a very unsafe ride at night. Junk. I will stick with the aftermarket off road light for now and find something to hard wire in there eventually. If I find anything I will post results.

darn, it is not an H4 headlight. not sure what the designation is but the H4 doesn't fit. maybe an adaptor somewhere out there.

Will stick to the new set up for now and hope the police don't notice. If it's pointed down it doesn't blind oncoming traffic. Will keep trying. the reflector I think is the main problem anyway. back to the drawing board.

having trouble uploading hope it works this time.

Interesting thread. I am thinking something simple like air filter and throttle cable too, but maybe just a clogged fuel line as well. Old bike may have dislodged some gunk out of bottom of fuel tank that plugged up line. Keep at it. I inherited a 2002 vino with bad gas. I siphoned old out and after filling fired right up.

I bought 2, the one above and this monster from Planet X. Ratings were all over the place but the concept looked cool. I don't mind spending money to try something with a new procuct even if not well executed. I can repurpose it somewhere. I'd much rather spend my time fixing the headlamp than trying to make it go faster like many do. I have a piaggio mp3 400 and the best part of it is the lighting, although it is nice to have the speed and safety it allows. Thanks for all the interest, folks, will report back when the verdict comes in on which lightbulb is better.  8)
