Agility 50 / No headlight and strange Reg/Rect values
« on: August 18, 2020, 08:50:56 PM »
Hi fellas!
I have this strange behaviour were the alternator is charging the battery and all probe points give correct voltages but I can't get the headlight to work.
Headlight is powered by the alternator so as not to drain the battery when the engine is shut off.
Lamps are new, regulator/rectifier is new and I measure 12VAC between two of the lamps terminals.
I've measured my regulator/rectifier with a multimeter and I get between 14 and 17 MOhm over the terminals stated in the diagram.

Has anyone any ideas what is happening here?

Cheers
Patrik

on a bike!! It was switched cables at the glass fuses resulting in constant feed from battery positive.
Always check even the most obvious places.

Well it wasn't the ignition switch. The problem persists. Have looked over all cables but haven't found any strange "fixes"/re-routings or signs of damage.

Anyone knows how to measure an R/R?

The ignition switch seems to be toast. The battery feed goes through at all times. The three other wires are unaffected by key position when checking continuity between themselves or to ground or battery. I'm guessing at least one of the "dead" wires would enable the cdi box?
Resort to fault finding by replacing parts and have ordered a new switch/key kit.

Back when the package arrive.

Agility 50 / Ignition always on
« on: October 15, 2019, 06:51:28 PM »
Hi
I see a lot of posts where the scooter won't turn on. So naturaly I have the reverse problem. My ignition is always on! I can crank the engine over without the key in the ignition.
Have anyone had this problem?
Does anyone know how to measure the wiring on the ignition?
I'm guessing there is a short in the ignition lock but I can't find information on which leads should be conducting or not when the key is out.
The scooter is a KG10SA.

Any help is much appreciated! ☺️
Cheers

Agility 50 / Re: Compression spec on Agility 50 4T?

I agree, it sounds rather high. At 127 psi, did it run well? I.e. did it have reasonable power output or was it "tired"?
If valves and rings are ok I'd guess you may have a blown head gasket (it may sometimes be hard to spot) or a warped head. Use a straight ruler on the head to cylinder mating surface with a light shining from behind. Move the ruler around. You should not see any light between ruler and head.
A general rule for increasing engine volume: increase stroke or bore and keeping the head volume intact will increase compression ratio. This may lead to knocking. You will also want to check the geometry of the head volume to control squish and any imperfections that increase risk of knocking.
One way to lower compression ratio, by increasing head volume, is to use a thicker head gasket but it's only advisable if the head is hemispherical. Again check squish.
If the head is straight I'd use it for a BBK.  :)

Hi
The service manual says 16kg/cm² (228 psi).
