« on: August 29, 2019, 01:01:48 AM »i see talk about all the kymco scooter besides one ! and its wild ... is it rare or ? but im talking about the top boy ,racer,cobra,cross .its all the same scooter but the cross has bigger tires for offroad use and headlight grill .but this form has little to no info on them or support and with this post im hoping to get the word out and more info and a place on this form for this amazing scooter .. im building one and i would like a place to put my info and what ive done and learned so i can help others with this scooter if they have one lol thanks for your guys timesorry i have Dyslexia.sometime its really hard for me to see my mistakes .ill try to find an app that might help me correct these problems i have .sorry

im not sure if this is the number that tells what motor it is but its ky-sf10 *8302268 *. there is stamp top left of the stator with them numbers ..if there is another way to tell or numbers and location in where they are at so i can give them to you let me know ...

yes the top boy ,racer, cobra and cross are pretty much the same but are crazy hard to find parts and guilds for .so from the replies and the fact that i im barly getting replies on my post these things are rare and you guys are also having trouble too finding info on them

i was looking to do around 40ish . besides the 72 cc kit i was planing on upgrading the clutch and clutch springs . and i have malossi derestricted variator .i want to put slides in but i dont know what size( i think the rollers are 13 /16 i think i have no idea lol) it is to order i want to get a slide kit so i can dial it in

i cant see how that could be misunderstood .but my all caps was excitement .cause ive been on the web for days looking for help and it was real late at night was happy i was able to find parts . but still having trouble getting specs for the racer cobra ect and what parts are interchangable with other scooters .made few threads just not getting replies i think i have rare scooter .

im having the hardest time finding any specs and info on this scooter cant get the vin to decode cant figure out what size sliders or rollers i need for my malossi variator . same with the clutch i tried to google it by the marking on it but no luck on that either .same with the carb. also i didnt put any of this on this was a barn find . but im going to upgrade it with a malossi 72cc cylinder kit ,needing jet kit for the carb,and want to use sliders and not rollers in the variator and change out the clutch and springs .

i heard there is many different restriction on these racer cobras like carb ,exhaust,intake,cdi and variator boss but cant find any how to ,to do them or a write up .they also say it depends on your vin cause the restrictions could be different from state by state .but when i go to look up my vin it says it can be found ..mine says july 2002 vin rfb5faag02b102062 its kinda hard to read the vin plate has seen better days lmk what websites you guys use to llok up your vin plates for free thanks again

it might be your fuel filter . and have you check for spark , make sure it was strong not weak(cdi might be going out).and have you tried adjusting the carb could be running rich or lean .you also might be having leak around your engine gaskets or your lines . with it running see if you can some or here any odd sounds or feel air being pushed out (and not from the exhaust lol) lmk if any of this helps and report back with what you find so we can go from there..

so i just order malossi 72cc cylinder kit for my cobra racer . and ive been all over the internet on how to derestrict the cobra racer top boy and there is not any clear answers on it .. some say to cut a green wire some say cut the cdi .then they say there is restriction on the carb, variator boss something about a washer ,intake and exhaust ..can anyone point to the right direction on the hows tos cause i cant find nothing . or make a step by step write up . so we can closes this case on this ghost bike lol thanks everyone for your time and your replys .also i heard once i do all these things it can do upwards of 50 mph !!!!! lets see and comfrim !

thank you for the reply i got it to turn over but notice that it had bad head gasket so im ordering 72 cc malossi cylinder head kit

okay so if you hold down the starter button it will catch ..just takes it a min .but i got spark got fuel and went to start it smoke was coking out of the bottom gasket . took it off and it had failed so off to find where to buy one at
