Very nice! I ordered those crash bars/bumpers when I bought my 200i back in late September...but they never came and dealer couldn't get any answer from KYMCO if, when, or not they would come. So got a refund. Sad. I have seen on Bay where a German company has them up for sale...price quite high...if I read the auction correctly, you buy them, this german company orders them from KYMCO and sends them then on to you...??? Guess I will live without them.

Fortunately we're still getting some few nice models from their massive world-wide line-up.

Let me see if we can get a statement of corporate health, or near-future plans from KYMCO/USA.

Stig

Were you able to contact KymcoUSA?

brrrr....November forecast not looking good for late season rides!

Never had much luck going through there.
If you need parts for your Kymco, try looking at the sticky near the top of "General Discussion" page.
Several parts sources via dealers listed there.

Stig
Don't need any parts...was hoping to find some reference to accessories and if they still list those chrome bumpers as availiable. Seems to me last week or so There was a way to get a list of Kymco accessories, divided by type of machine and engine size.  ???

Have 500 miles on the scooter now...sure runs sweet around 30-40 mph. Haven't pushed it past that much more yet.    :)

Has there been a change in the Kymco parts page, selected from their (kymcousa) website. When I now "click" on Parts it asks for a PIN & PW...which I thought I had (a log in name) but when I use it it says incorrect...with no way to correct it, change it  or ask questions. ??? Frustrating!

It has been a while since I've used the Kymco/contact email to ask them a question.
I always got a fairly quick response - maybe 2 or 3 days at the most.

With the loss of kymcopartsmonster, our best USA parts source, which was located near Kymco USA, (or at least in the same state, if I recall correctly) things seem to have changed.

It does not seem that any dealer will comment that things are just peachy with KymcoUSA these days.
It almost seems that they have drawn down the company, or are working short staffed or something - due to poor N. American sales of all scooters and motorcycles?
Fortunately we're still getting some few nice models from their massive world-wide line-up.

Kymco accessories, while of good quality,  always seemed few and a little hard to source. My dealer took too long on my crash bars, so I found some in stock via a Texas dealer.
At least our crash bars are better than the ones sold in Europe. The mounts are much more solid on our set.

Let me see if we can get a statement of corporate health, or near-future plans from KYMCO/USA.

I figure that the drop in scooter and small bije sales has affected Kymco in the USA.The two local motorcycle dealers (Non Harley) have few scooters but lots of large 4x4 and side-by-sides for sale.  :(

Let us know what you hear from KymcoUsa.

I recently installed the Kymco windshield (GH-403B-A0) on my 2018 200i. Photo attached (I hope!). Doesn't have any "wings" on it to deflect wind from my hands, but it has been a big improvement in riding comfort...no more holding on against the wind. The photo should show how it mounts...no removal of the turn signal needed. It came with ZERO instructions...which is apparently normal.  I did run into a slight problem...the bracket under the righthand mirror (throttle side) pressed up against the plasctic handle bar cover, moving it slightly enough for the throttle grip to drag a bit on the cover. I used a Dremel tool to grind a notch in the cover so the bracket wouldn't touch the plastic when tightened down.

Got this windshield off eBay. When I bought the scooter a month ago I ordered a windshield and chrome front (GH-879-A0) and chrome rear (GH-857-A0) from the dealer. After two weeks they couldn't tell me when and/or if the windshield would arrive. So canceled the order for the windshield at the dealer and bought one out of eBay I left the chrome bumpers on order. It's now been a month and still they can't tell me when or if those chrome bumpers will be coming. Have sent a couple emails to KymcoUsa asking if these parts were still availiable..using their contact form...no response! Is this "normal' public relations from Kymco?

I made the trip to Agua Prieta, Sonora to visit a tapiceria (upholsterer) to rebuild my seat. Now I just wanna ride around all day.

Sent from my MI PAD 4 using Tapatalk

Looks nice...and comfortable! How much thicker is the seat? How much taller is the seat now in relation to the road? Can you still get your feet  flat on the ground (or close to it)?  Do you know what kind of foam they used? Thanks

One of the joys of getting a new "toy" is making small changes that improve the looks and/or operation ...at least to the eye of the owner. here's a photo of my new 2018 Like 200i with some added pin striping. Around the leg shiels in 1/4" wide silver metallic pin stripe tape, while the red stripe is also 1/4" wide. Livens the scoot up a bit, tho I've not completely sold myself on the red stripe on the front fender. Waiting for those chrome front and rear bumpers and windshield.

Exploded parts diagrams, with prices, have for years been available from several online sources.
Currently, you can click through to the parts of most Kymco products from the dealers listed under the General heading, top of page, in the stickies."buy Kymco parts here"
Easy to access via cell or desktop PC.
Stig

I have Windows 10 and have been using Goggle Chrome. I can also use Microsoft Edge. Found that both these require approval of Adobe Flash to be used waitha specific site. Found instructions of how to do that and, after much frustration, find I can now view larger images that are readable. Seems to take some extra steps to get there however.  Don't rally need a parts book at the moment, but  it helps learn how the scoot is put together. As Stig states, It's also possible to access parts diagrams thru at least one of the links in "where to buy Kymco parts".

I see that Kymco has put their Parts Book on line. I signed up for it...but the images and print is so small it's worthless...and I haven't found a way to enlarge it that's readable. Must be doing something wrong...any idea what that could be?  Thanks!

Thanls for the responses! I may use the Honda HP4M Moly oil, but not till engine broken in. I'd like to do the 600 mile oil change & inspection myself....anyone know what Kymco's view is on doing that? And how do you show you've done it. The dealer I bought it from should be able to do it (altho the sales staff didn't seem to know a lot about the scooter and the showroom is filled with large 4-wheelers) but it's nice to become familiar with how it's built.

Just bought a new 2018 Kymco Like 200i in matte black. Traded in a 2014 Honda Forza 300 for it.   The Forza was a great scooter (I put 20,000+ miles om it), but my old age and health condition brought out the short comings of it's weight (150 pounds heavier then the Like 200i), making it a chore to push in & out of garage and up & off the center stand. Compared to the Forza, the Like is a joy to push around and get on & off the centerstand.  I've now got about 125 miles on it and am getting use to how easy it is the steer and ride. A couple questions have arisen:

1: Oil change...The owners manual puts a lot of emphasis on the 600 mile service and oil change, but I note there is also and oil change recommended at 200 miles. How many do that oil change?  With only one quart needed, the cost is minimal.

2: Oil used...Honda sells a HP4M oil that has "Moly" in it...the Moly is a friction reducer. Seems like it should be a good choice for the Kymco. Anyone using it?

3: Ride...the ride seems unduly hard, as did the Forza and a Honda Refex 250 before.  Anyone found a way to soften things up? Some of the problem is probably me...my current riding weight with gear is less then 120 pounds.

4: Parking brake and side stand safety switch:  or lack there of! I had thought those came under some Federal requirements. Apparently not!?

Hope to enjoy this scoot for a long time. Really like the style and am planning to ad the fron & rear chrome bumpers and a windshield. Attached are a couple photos...one, simulated xray, the result of a photo app on an iPad.
