Xciting 700i / My test ride.

Drove 300 miles one way to San Antonio, TX to test ride a MYROAD. Did this on my bike so it was FUN!!!!
Nice scoot, the power and smooth engine was fantastic , would run circles around my last X500, at 75 mph (speed limit on the nearby freeway) was low rpm, and much more left to go. I did shoot it up to 100 once, but don't tell any one!

Axcess  to do reg. maintance was great, under seat storage also. Only a few dislikes, so here we go.

1. The seat pushes you forward, no aftermarket for now so take it to a shop, not a big thing, but a must do.
2.  Wind shield is the oem small one allows a lot of wind, I had a large  after market on my X500, none for this one YET.
3 The mirrors would need extensions (cheep, after market can be had) was looking at my shoulders in half of the glass.
4 The price is somewhat LARGE, but they had a NEW 2014 for $7999.00, and there even better prices to be found.

Had 2 X500,at highway speeds not my ride, I mean the speed limit not more . Had a Suzuki Burg 650,yes I bought it used, and the belt broke, stranded and  a $2000.00 maybe price to repair never again. Now have a Suzuki C-50 , great bike, but I miss my scoot.  When the trade and money is right, A MYROAD will be next.

New member and wanted to say hello.

I've been lurking here for about 6 months, learning what I could about my 500i and enjoying the forum. Have now traded my 500i for a 700i.

Thanks for a great forum!

How about a update on you 700.  I thinking of it instead of a Suzuki 650,had one but the $5000.00 belt broke. Never again. My 500 xciting dropped a valve, less than a year old.  Have a Suzuki MC  c50 but miss the scoots. Thanks

Had one (car tire) on my 07X-500, loved it, no problems, good ride, had over 20000 miles on it before I changed it, don't remember the size.

Told ya!!!

Sam:)
Yes you did.  You think I was running it too fast. 75 mph was close to the red line, all freeway. Sometimes faster :-[

They called me and did say it dropped a valve. Did not say witch one.  The c-50 is averaging 45 mpg,not bad, the two things I miss is the auto trans, and the storage under the seat.

Did you check the condition of the oil before the trip? That's a LONG trek if the bike head degraded oil or low oil.

Had fresh oil & filter, and fresh gear oil. Just started making a loud tapping noise, by time I had a chance to pullover it quite and had oil coming out the right front part of the block. Engine had locked up.
I had a marder years ago, now the c-50. Nice ride.

Had about 5000 miles on it headed out to Tn, from texas. The dealer said it had shattered the piston. Had been ridding it 70 to 75 for about 7 hrs only stopping for gas and short beraks.  Got my full purchase price back toward a Suzuki C-50 new. The piston had also cracked the block.  DAM.

You would burn the clutch out engaging lower for sure. Almost every x500 I work on already has a highly blued bell

OK,thank you.... I sure don't a BLUE BA.., Bell.   ;D ;D

It is my understanding that at 4000 rpm from a start is when it engages, thought a little lower rpm would be better.
I am not for Shure, but in traffic from a start ,thinking a little less rpm to start off would be better!

Would springs with less tension allow the clutch to open quicker/lower RPM????

Get 1 - 2- gram heavier rollers Porkie. I'd suggest 1.5 heavier, and see if that is enough for you. They will lower the rpm thru the entire range. That is their job. Controlling RPM.

Can you walk me through this. What size is stock, where to get and what brand?????  Thanks
