General Discussion / Re: How to mount navigation on an AK 550
« on: March 13, 2020, 01:28:36 PM »
Thank you very much!

I asked the dealer about a mount and they wanted to drill a hole in the middle of the console under the windscreen.  I wasn't too keen on drilling a hole in a 10,000 Euro scoot.

After your suggestion, I see that Louis has these... and I got one from Amazon.  I was a little worried about size when fitting on the brake fluid container... but the mount actually sits on top of the container.

Your solution beats the 156 Euro solution from Taiwan!  That solution also requires drilling.

Thanks again  8)

Hey...

Where are you all from?

It would be interesting to see where other members live.

I'm living in Germany near the Netherlands border.

Has anyone mounted a navigation unit on a AK 550?

If so, what mount did you use?

I owned a number of Triumphs and Harleys over the years but I also always had a Vespa or Beverly for the quick run to the post office or bakery.

At some point... your garage can only hold so many... and you can only ride one at a time.

I sold everything... but missed something big enough for two... but sporty enough to ride alone.

Then.. I just happened to go by a Kymco dealer...and got the AK 550.

These are two closer views under the fender.

The problem is that there is nothing to fasten any kind of fender under there.

Ok... I found it...

The picture shows two scooters:

The one on the left is the Xciting S 400 with the inner fender just behind the exhaust.

The one on the right is the AK 550.

I have the pictures on my PC.

How can I upload them?

Hey everyone...

I had an Xciting S 400 for 94 km and traded it for a AK 550.

The AK 550 is great... except that there is no inner fender mud guard.

The S 400 has an inner fender that keeps the mud from splashing everywhere...

But imagine my surprise the first time I found all this mud EVERYWHERE!!

Have any of you heard of a solution?

I ordered a mud guard from Aliexpress… but I don't know if they work.

Just want to reach out to see if there are any AK550 owners out there. I can't be the only one!

You're not the only one... we are the only two!

Has anyone got an AK550?
I feel lonely........ ;)

I am in Germany and got one last week.

Everything is great… until you ride through the mud.
