Technical | How To / Like 50 2t parts
« on: August 31, 2011, 02:33:35 AM »
I have a 2010 Like 50 that I won in a raffle last year ($10 raffle ticket!).  I have been looking for some basic parts like brakes, etc., but have noticed that most of the websites out there list every model of Kymco 49cc scoot except for the Like.  What other scooter model is comparable for the purpose of purchasing replacement parts?

$3.30 here in So. FL.  I opt to pay a bit more for ethanol free for the scoot.

Anyone ever try any of the Amsoil products?  I have a neighbor who is a dealer and he keeps mentioning them to me.

Yes, the plastic body panels cannot be removed without access to under the seat.  I have looked for the cable, but it is not visible from below.  Going to the dealer tomorrow.

Eye Candy | Videos and Pics / Like 50 rider new to the forum
« on: February 21, 2011, 03:10:00 AM »
Hi there,

I am new to the forum and have a Like 50 (2010) that I actually won in a local raffle.  Here in So. Florida we have ample good weather for riding, and the scooter is great.  I always thought that I would enjoy owning one, but it was one of those things that I probably would have never spent the money on.  I look forward to putting many miles on, and meeting other riders thru this forum.

Technical | How To / Like 50 Seat lock cable
« on: February 20, 2011, 11:39:44 PM »
I have a 2010 Like 50.  Today, after a great ride, I went to stow my helmet under the seat, and upon turning the key to lift the seat, I heard a loud snap.  Now when I turn the key, I am unable to lift the seat as it stays locked.  I do hear what sounds like the end of a cable rattling around up near the actual latch, so I am fairly certain the cable has broken or come loose from the latch.  Anybody have any idea how to get the body panels off of the Like 50 so that the cable can be inspected/changed?  I looked at a service manual and the first step in removing the body panels is to lift the seat and remove the met-in box.  I need a work around since the seat can't be lifted.

Thanks.
John
