Agility 125 / Re: Looking at a 2007 125 Agility

Thanks for the reply. I agree it could be a number of things preventing the starter from working. I do have a multi-meter. I'm just wondering if it's worth fixing it up to keep or just turning it over. The scoot only has about 1700 miles on it. It does seem to be a fairly popular bike on this forum. Again, Thanks, Ernie

Agility 125 / Looking at a 2007 125 Agility
« on: February 14, 2021, 08:28:37 PM »
I have a Yeager and has been a pretty good bike. Recently I ran into a 2007 125 Agility that is up for sale for about $500 obo. The owner says he has owned it for a couple of years and says the electric start has never worked and has always used the kick starter. It has a few scratches but no major damage. I did notice that the Agility seems to be one of the more popular scoots on the forum going by the number of topics and number of posts. It seems like a decent deal even if I don't really need another scooter. Hoping I could solve the starter problem with a new one. Owner has never had it checked out and just wants it gone. Any feedback would be great. Thanks, Ernie

Thanks for the reply. I have looked all over the internet and am unable to find where Keyway ever used this engine. Could I ask where you found this? Just to be clear, The engine although called a 200 is actually 174.5 cc. Also the engine is fuel injected and liquid cooled. As I said I'm searching all over and cannot find another scoot that uses this engine. Any help would be great, Thanks, Ernie

That is a really nice looking scoot. so here's my 2 cents worth. I have been a Japanese rider all my life, and it didn't matter if it was a motorcycle or scooter. To me, they were the best of the best hands down. However! awhile ago, I got on the Kymco line and little by little have been swayed to them. Now don't get me wrong the big 4 are still wonderful bikes if you don't mind paying the premium price. The Kymco bikes, I believe are an exceptional buy and it seems they will do everything the others do and leaves some serious $$ in your pocket for other things. Ernie

General Discussion / Re: Finally figured scooters out

I usually just read on the forum but I love this subject. I've riding 56 years as of this summer. I live up in Maine and have family down in New York along the Hudson river across from West Point NY. For many years I have made solo trips to visit. The bikes have been varied but mostly in the 900 size as I'm not a large person so this size bike worked for me. About 10 years ago I gave up motorcycles and started riding scooters. I have made the trip 7 times on scooters. First was a 650 Burgman. Nice scoot, fast and comfortable but very heavy. Next 4 trips were on 400 Burgmans. Perfect bike to travel. Highway speeds at 75mph for the 7 hour trip was great. Then made the trip on a Yamaha Majesty 400. Another very enjoyable ride pretty much the same as the Burgman. The last trip in 2019 was on a Honda Reflex 250. Now this scoot did a pretty good job even though it did struggle a bit to hold 70mph for most of the trip. I have never worried about Highway travel, just keep your eyes open and enjoy. So now I have downsized again to a smaller scoot. 2012 Kymco Yager 200i and have found another route to New York with less Interstate riding but will add about 3 hours of travel time. At this time I'm really considering it. The Yager has 2700 miles. Just something I'm thinking about. I have never thought of a scooter not being up to the task. Ernie

Yager GT 200i / Re: Tight Valves!!!
« on: January 30, 2021, 12:36:57 PM »
I thank you Rufus for the info. I do spend a lot of reading time on this forum and can say I've read every post under the Yeager section. The one thing that that comes up that bothers me is that folks seem to complain about lack of dealer support and parts. I have not run into a single problem with my Yeager but bought it late into the past year so have very few miles on it. Only about 2700. Up here in the north east, it's snowmobile weather. Thanks, Ernie up in "Maine"

Hi De Dee. I have only put on about 100 miles since I started the post. Can I ask, Is that 24000km on a Yeager gt200i? If so that"s the most miles I have seen on one. I'm really new to Kymco and really haven't developed a trust in the brand yet, but still trying.

My 2012 Yeager is a GT 200i as listed. The actual displacement is 174cc as spec sheets seem to say. It is liquid cooled and fuel injected. Looks like the model was produced from 2009--2012. was just wondering if it was used elsewhere? Thanks, Ernie

Seems like a really good engine with fuel injection and liquid cooled and plenty of power. Does anyone know if this engine has just faded away or could it have been used in any other scooters. ?

Yager GT 200i / Re: ? Rev limiter
« on: January 19, 2021, 06:38:48 PM »
Thanks for the reply. The other reason I ask, I have seen 70mph on the digital speedometer and it still felt like would still go a bit more. I've only did this once and most likely won't do it again.

Yager GT 200i / ? Rev limiter

I have a 2012 Yeager GT 200i. When I bring it up to about 65mph, I'm touching the red line as seen on the tach. There is still more throttle to go but I start getting nervous about overrevving. I haven't felt like a rev limiter has kicked in, so wondering if there is one. Thanks, Ernie

Yager GT 200i / HELP please!!!
« on: October 07, 2020, 04:06:37 PM »
My Yager 200i had the oil light come on this morning while riding. Oil was changed about 2 weeks ago. I stopped at the side of the road and find the oil is up full where it belongs and clean. Any ideas please?

General Discussion / Re: Former KYMCO USA Technician

Good morning. As a new Kymco owner of 2 recent Kymco scoots, 2018 Like 200i and 2011 Yager. I do a lot of reading on the subject of Kymco ownership, and I must admit that it does bother me because of the lack of support by Kymco and especially the availability of parts. It's nice to have a forum to ask questions and get real answers. Although I have had no problems at all with the bikes, It's a constant thought in the back of my mind that if something does go wrong, i'm up the creek. This past week I sold the "Like" and I'm really thinking hard about the Yager. I don't understand why a company like Kymco, have not stood behind their products a lot better than they do. I think they do themselves a great injustice. Ernie

Yager GT 200i / Tight Valves!!!
« on: October 02, 2020, 02:35:58 PM »
Good morning. Rainy day so I decided I would do a little overdue work on My Yager 200i.  I bought it this summer with about 2k miles. It now has 2600. Not a lot but I thought I would check the valves. The bike runs very good but I doubt anyone has ever checked them. To my surprise, Both valves were tight. I was only able to slid a .002 and that was tight. Opened them up to .004 I and .005 E.  Bike doesn't run any better But I feel better. Glad I checked.
