Thanks guys, don't get me wrong I really like the thing. I just have my eyes on a bigger ride... a 150cc bike. But that's how a lot of it goes sometimes

What did you pay for it?

Stig

I bought it from a family friend. After all paperwork and such it totalled around 1k

Not much in true terms

In your opinion do you think asking 1k would be way off base?

Yes, have to factor holed pistons into MPG equation.
Stig

Filled up today, as nodded with variator boss, opened up carb air inlet tube from box, smoothed carb face, drilled main jet out to approx .90mm, and running open air box.... seriously, the best it runs is with the airbox lid off and I secured the filter in place. And needle shimmed about 1mm... the shims are a bit wonky.

Anyways today I filled up and calculated 102.5mpg. That's basically WOT everywhere. I dont think that's too bad. But i know if i remove the shims...it runs like crap, if i restrict air more....it runs slower. I build an air scoop that basically forced air into the factory filter, but it ran slower... but then again, it may have started to go lean.  Got a plug I'm gonna to a WOT plug chip with. But it still seems like it wants more fuel... anyone have any thoughts?

I have a new diaphragm and needle coming this weekend to see about further adjustability.

Yeah, I have a few other pieces I'm making as well. I'll have the main scoop done today, I hope. And the square venturi I'm making 2 more with slightly bigger nose cones to help scale the air in through there to the plenum box. And finally working on a better shell to mount it all to. Then I'll see where my jetting is. Currently I have the main drilled out to a 90. And running the stock filter I need 2 shims under the needle to get it to run and accelerate.  I tried it in the stock box but it definitely runs better with more air. I found this out by putting a small piece of cloth over the snorkel inlet which was opened up and as soon as I twisted the throttle it died. Removed the shims of the needle and same deal

General Discussion / New intake mods. Looking for thoughts
« on: July 26, 2020, 01:39:18 AM »
I'm working on a new intake for my a50. The mods to just my intake tube and carb smoothing have done me well. I got some plugs to do some chops with. MJ is currently a 90 with stock 35 slow. New mods going on are pictured and currently making a ram air scoop. Forgive the blue. It's what I have the most of currently lol. Plans are scoop for gathering air, use the high pressure in the scoop drawn down the venturi with arms to speed it up and smooth it. Into a bigger plenum to slow it down a bit. Then the other velocity stack to direct it to the carb.

Smoothed transitions into carb and slide inlet. As well as slightly chamfered at the bottom around the air inlet port
