I forgot to mention that when you are on a group ride, the leader has commented to me that my hi-viz yellow really separates you from the pack. I'm hoping that will be the case with cagers!

I lost my nut this summer, and like you, it seemed to have disappeared, but no luck when i drained oil. My friend's dad who is a mechanic told, that if it didnt come out, it wont hurt anything, and that i shouldnt worry. It has run perfectly untill i crashed with a car and a light signal pole :)

I sure hope you were ok (sounds like you are)!

I always ride with gloves, boots, armored pants, and a hi-viz Airglide jacket by Olympia, and my hi-viz yellow helmet by Scorpion.

I have gone over on a slow speed uphill u-turn before, and just went down on my hands and knees. But they were protected by my gloves and padded knees. I have no idea what it's like to go down at any speed, but want to know that I have as much protection as possible if I do.

I wear the jacket and pants even on hot days. Better to sweat than to suffer road rash, in my opinion!

News flash!!! I am finally going to get my card after trying since March 2011!

I emailed Kymco USA, and they said they hadn't received the paperwork, but if I contacted my dealer today, they could process the order this week.
I contacted the dealer by phone, and they said they would fax it again for the 4th time. (?)

I received a call back from the dealer saying they had faxed the original paperwork, plus the other attempts to Kymco.
And then I received an email from Vivian @ Kymco saying they had received the fax, and would process my card this week, and to expect it in the mail next week.

All I know is that it sounds like I might finally be getting a card! (I did happen to mention that I had been on the Kymco forum, and that other people were receiving their cards. Maybe that made the difference.)

Thanks for your suggestions!

Finally got my card a couple of days ago. What an ordeal!

Glad to hear that you are OK. But what did the specialist say about your thumb? Hopefully it will mend fast.

Yeah, not any time to think, just grabbed the brakes. I don't even remember the sensation of falling over, just the sudden thump against the pavement.

I think my new practice around bicycles, joggers, walkers, etc. is to give a couple of honks on the horn to let 'em know I'm around.

I did pickup new helmet, jacket & boots today, so I'm ready when my scoot gets back.

Glad to hear that you picked up new safety gear! I'm a safety gal, and believe whole-heartedly in all safety gear. I've fallen over at stops before (foot went down on gravel), and just my gloves alone protected my hands from getting scraped up. My scooter doesn't move unless I have ALL of my gear on.

And I am so glad to hear that you are ok :)

I hope you enjoy your Grand Dink. I have a Grand Dink, or Grand Vista 250, and I love the way it fits vertically challenged riders!

I think you will find that it becomes very addicting. If you get a chance, take the MSF course in your area if it's available. Some classes offer scooters that you can ride. The more training you have under your belt, the more confident of a rider you will be.

Happy Holidays, and scoot safely :)

Is anybody here using electric gear? I was wondering how to do the wiring. Maybe drill some holes to access the battery and with a cable outlet in front of the seat. Or on the side?
Wish all that stuff was cheaper...

I am using Harley Davidson heated gloves. I run a wire from my pigtail that I use my Battery Tender on. It works real well.

well basically where i live its really windy, and the cover for my moped keeps flying off, any tips on how to keep the cover on ? :) im nearly 16 and really excited to get on the road, any tips on how to make sure the bike doesn't fall over?
thanks
tom :)

Another tip. Always use the center stand if you have one. I have known of too many scooters that have fallen over while their riders were in the store. And be careful on any gravel.

1960 how many of us are reaching the over 50 mark.

I'll be the big 50 this April :)  Doesn't bother me though. I feel like I'm 30!

After purchasing my Yager in June I called the dealer 4 times with no results.  Finally, I contacted Kymco and below is a copy of my E Mail and Kymco's response.  I brought it to the dealer and he is working on it now.  I did remove some of my ID but I can be emailed thru the site.

To qualify for the promotional gift card, your dealership has to do 2 things:

1 – submit a gas card claim form

2 – warranty register your unit on the KYMCO Dealer website.

I can confirm that your unit has been warranty registered, but we have not received a claim form for this purchase.

Please contact your dealer and request they submit the claim form (available on the KYMCO Dealer website) and request that we confirm receipt.

Subject: Gift Card

Dear Sir;

I purchased my Kymco Yager GT 200i on June 9, 2011.  I understand that you have a promotion which will refund to me or award to me a gift card valued at $100.  My Yager was purchased new from Minitrailbikes, 307 White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ 08021.  Kindly advise me concerning how I apply for the gift card.

Thank You,

Richard L

I have also contacted my dealer multiple times, and Kymco Usa several times. I don't know what else to do :(  Any more ideas?

I have the touring seat on my '09 GV. I think it is a softer seat, which makes it easier to touch the ground. But I don't think it gives you more legroom in the touring position.
Hope this helps.
