Xciting 500 / Re: Xciting 500 stalling??

I have been having problems with this also. Dealer said that one-cylinder engines do this when hot (huh?). Others in my scooter group indicated it has more to do with vapor lock/california emission standards/gas cap vent clogged.

So I have been watching it. Only happens when hot, never happens on a full tank, happened yesterday at 80 miles on the trip meter. I was able to restart after opening the gas cap (would not pop open by itself - had to use my fingers), and the gas guage dropped from above the half mark to below the half mark - about where I would expect it to be at 80 miles. This seems to give my fellow riders more credibility than the dealer.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to fix it. That has to happen, since it will only get hotter here in Florida, and this stalling thing is no fun.

I bought a 2009 Xciting 500 with 6700 miles to replace a 2007 GrandVista (awesome bike) with 18,000 miles, with the intent to add a Tow Pac Trike kit.

The Xciting back rest (should be called butt rest) kills my tailbone (pain and numbness). This is despite the Utopia Backrest I installed. Is anyone else experiencing this and finding a solution. I am 5'10" and 175# and have the butt rest in the full backwards position.

The Trike now has 2000 miles on it and is working well after many adjustments to compensate for the weak instructions and pictures/diagrams. I also added a Top Case and side cases from T-Motorsports. They were very reasonable, but sort of cheaply made. I made a few improvements and they work and look good. Anyone else add a tow-pac to the 500?
