Is it only that the needle is pointing to the wrong place?  Otherwise, is the needle moving as it should? The tachs are just simply coils with a slider that moves the needle.
When I moved it to 0, it returns back to where it was. I put the dash back on now the needle isnt doing anything. there was a 24 pin micro controller on the board that I noticed

Super 9 / 2004 Kymco Super 9 tach troubles. Ugh I know

Tach Troubles, electric boogaloo. After doing lots of careful research, I have learned 2004 Kymco Super 9's are famous for having their tachometers go bad, so after alot of trouble shooting (such as using the same as stock spark plug) or looking for pinched wires, I found this. and just fyi if you ask if its trying to return to 0, if I return the needle to 0, it goes back to where it was. Any thoughts on this guru's of Kymco Forum. Has a solution been found? and yes Im using the original spark plug, here's a video of the tach here:
I tried returning the needle to 0, but it always returns to where it is, and jumps around. I'm leaning towards bad signal or coil touching. Thanks for any advice guys!

Phone your nearest Kymco dealer.

Stig

I plan on calling Kymco USA tommorow, I've noticed porous aluminium (holes) near the left side of the left engine mount. Im hoping they will honor the recall still. I mean, I doubt they'd want a ticking super 9 time bomb on the road

Hi, I just bought a kymco super 9 last weekend, and I was trying to take the front fairings off to access the radiator. I took 8 screws and the hanger off, what's the trick? Taking off the leg shield? Because it feels like there is screws that I cant see, if I do have to take off the leg shield, how?
