General Discussion / Kymco repair shop in Vancouver, BC (Canada)
« on: September 26, 2024, 04:58:07 PM »
Hi forum,

Does anyone know of a shop in the Vancouver, BC area that I can send my Kymco Super 9 scooter in for repairs?  Ideally it'll be close to downtown Vancouver.  Thank you!

Thank you for your responses Neil and Stig.  I have not been able to find out too much in response to my question, so have simply sent the scooter to my insurance provider, and hopefully they'll be able to get it fixed.  Fingers crossed that they will be able to fix it....

Hi all,

In the off chance that this forum is still alive...  Basically someone tried to steal my scooter, and broke the "steering lock" functionality (so the handlebars now turn freely with the key removed from ignition).  I also noticed that the handlebars now do not align with the front wheel.  What's the best way to figure out how to re-align the handlebars (or figure out what the thieves actually broke)?  Thank you!

Replacement battery is YTX5L-BS.  Buy Yuasa if you are looking for OEM replacement.

Super 9 / Re: No spark?? 🤔

A bit late, but yes, there is a kill switch on the right handlebar.  If toggled to the kill position, there will not be a spark.  I now use the key to turn the scoot on an off, and ignore the killswitch (leave it in the off position)

Yes, the front fairing is multi piece composed of a front upper cover and front lower cover.  You will need to unclip the 2 tabs that keep the front upper cover in place first before it can be removed (highlighted in the slots below) . Hope that helps!

Super 9 / Upgrading suspension (or fork oil)?
« on: October 08, 2020, 04:07:25 PM »
Hi All,

I recently got my derestricted 2006 Super 9 LC 2T up and running.  I rode her back to back with my friend's Aprilia SR50, and I must say that I prefer the stiffer suspension of the SR50.  Are there any tips to stiffen up the suspension (perhaps changing the fork oil or springs)?   Also, the service manual mentions to adjust the steering head bearing if there is play in the handlebar.  Does anyone know how to perform this adjustment (or where the steering head bearing is)? TIA!
