General Discussion / Cover for Spade 150
« on: November 22, 2021, 08:13:10 PM »
Can anyone recommend a good cover for a Kymco 2019 Spade 150? I'm moving to a place with no garage so I need something to protect it from rain and sun. Thanks!

I know someone who is a professional welder who is willing to build this for me in a few weeks from now. Once the project is done, I'll try to remember to post pics.  8)

General Discussion / Spade 150 oil type
« on: February 08, 2021, 04:43:46 PM »
I don't have the book yet for my Spade 150, but my understanding from researching is that the book says to put "Kymco oil" in it, but doesn't specify the weight. Anyone know what type to use? I put 10W-40 motorcycle oil in, because someone online said that worked for them. Hope that was okay. :P

General Discussion / Spade 150 check engine light
« on: February 08, 2021, 04:41:21 PM »
I just bought a 2019 Kymco Spade 150 with full knowledge that the check engine light was on. It was a trade in to the dealer and I was able to talk them down from $2,700 + TTO to $2,300 + TTO because of the check engine light. It only has 1,200 miles on it. On the way home, I took it 55mph at one point to get it over a highway bridge, but I mostly tried to not be to hard on it because it's not been broken in. Just before my hour drive home was complete, the oil light came on. I had forgotten to check the oil at the dealership, when checking it out. :P So I stopped and checked the oil and it was nearly dry! I then put oil in it all the way up to the H mark, but the oil light wouldn't turn off. Later, the gas light came on because it was nearly empty. So I filled it up with gas but the gas light wouldn't turn off! Now I have the check engine, oil and gas lights on! This causes me to start wondering if there is a wiring issue, or the need for some kind of light reset procedure. I may take it to a motorcycle mechanic today or later in the week, but wanted to get input from y'all.

All good points Ruffus, but critical would be the size / weight of the amp.  If it's too big then mounting it on the tank could be a no-no?  Also weight (eg >15 kgs) could rule out a rear carrier on grounds of upset geometry and handling.  We could do to know the size and weight to advise accurately, but I'm wondering about maybe mounting it on the pillion seat somehow, perhaps using the grab rail mounts?

I like the pillion stead idea. Here are the specs.

-Dimensions (H x W x D): 13.5 x 15.5 x 11.5 in. (34.3 x 39.4 x 29.2cm)
-Weight: 25.5lbs (11.6kg)

I'm looking to install a luggage rack on the back of my 2019 Kymco Spade 150 so that I can attach my small amp for when I travel to gigs. I've been searching online and been having zero luck finding where to buy something like that. Can someone point me in the right direction?
