When install the CVT cover, make sure the hose is not bent. I've had the same issue and figured out that position of the vent hose was NOK and the CVT was overheating

Had this problem and solved it very easy

- bought YTX5L-BS YUASA oe battery
- filled the bendix with WD40 and assured there is a smooth transition
- changed the small copper bendix guide inside the transmission cover

and the most important part, install variator cover rubber gasket and tighten at specified torque the screws.

It appear that you can squeeze the bendix with the transmission cover so hard, that it won`t turn the engine at proper speed. Symptoms also include hot wiring and casual fuse / relay fail because of the strong opposition from bendix.

Now scooter starts just by touching the start button in a split second.

If it stops after a minute, then it might be too lean. The bystarter is active for that amount of time and his role is to enrich the mixture to cope with cold start.
Maybe there is an issue with airbox or air filter and there is too much air because of a leak.
If the mixture is too rich on idle, you`ll find soot deposit on the spark.

If there is a carburetor installed, adjust the mixture screw to 2 1/2 turns as mentioned in the service manual then try again

Agility 50 / Re: Another Bogging at full throttle post
« on: May 02, 2022, 09:52:24 AM »
Long time lurker.

So I’m banging my head against the wall.
49cc agility bogs at full throttle

120 psi compression
Valves adjusted .003 in, .004 ex
Kicks over and starts right up also starts up easily with battery
Cleaned carb twice.  Still bogs.  Then I put a new Chinese carb. Sounded exactly same as kymco carb.
Tried 2 different cdis.  Sounds exactly the same.

Have sprayed for air leaks. Found none.

Tried revving with exhaust off.  Still bogs at wot.

Petcock tested great. Gas is fresh.  Oil level is perfect.

Stator is putting out 13.8 volts if I recall.

Tried 2 different coils. Still bogs.

Plug looked very new.

Anyone ideas are welcome!

Fixed it?
Sounds like lack of gasoline. Clogged jets / level needle issues, faulty petcock, clogged filter or fuel lines.

if this doesnt work, what are the odds it is a rectifier issue? or something else?

To be easier for you, just tie a wire from the negative terminal of the battery to the scooter iron frame.
If the problem is still there, you can forget about this and move on with electrical check on the charge relay and magnetic induction charger.

For Keihin carb i have used 4mm main jets. 86 was mine stock, running now a 98 with no mods and still not rich mixture.
Tried 100 and bogs down the speed so this is the one for me. You need to do multiple tests to figure it out.

You say? If the scoot drives fine , you change oil and dies, what are the chances to be something that bad?

With ignition on, measure if there is continuity between the negative side of battery and the frame.
You might need a negative ground properly tied to the frame.

Check the wear of the variator, rollers in the firs place, then the 3 clutch springs to be in position.

Running the exhaust on stock carb (main jet) and airbox?
