Super 8 150 / Re: Kymco Super 8 150 Won't Start, New Battery

My thinking was:
You said once the wrapped, broken fuse was replaced the starter ran continuously. Fuse got hot. Starter stopped when fuse pulled or start switch disconnected. THEN test switch with multimeter set to ohms to see if switch turned on when pushed and turned off when released. Did you do that?

I found where the switch was shorting out where some insulation rubbed off.  I took it apart and separated the wires.
The switch seems to work intermittently with ohms as low as 3 and as high as 140 dancing wildly when switch is pressed.  It seems I am chasing on problem to the next...

I have  found the left handle bar switches (turn signal, Dimmer Horn, switches) are causing the fuse to heat up .

I unplugged them and it stops heating up.

Super 8 150 / Re: Shop Manual?

All that is on manualslib.com is the owner's manual for the 150. However the Super 8 50 euro 4 is on there and it id EFI ! Is yours EFI?

Nope definitely carbureted.  It seems unfortunate that no one on these forums seems to share manuals...

I know people here have them.  The wiring diagram is what I DESPERATELY NEED at the moment.   It's impossible to find OEM parts without a shop manual, and impossible to use aftermarket parts without a wiring diagram.

If anyone has a manual please share!!  Or if anyone wants to go in on a manual together lmk.

Yes, test the start button (switch) with a multimeter or test light.

There's no power at the switch..

The fuse that get's hot is on the Black->Black/blue wire.  Any ideas what's on that circuit?

Fuses? Trace power from battery to fuse holder? Ground connection from battery?

Year and miles on bike? From whom did you get this bike? Did it run and did you ride it before you got it?

Found a fuse that was wrapped in electrical tape and broken.  Replaced that and starter ignited continuously til I disconnected the battery.

The fuse I changed got really hot.  I disconnected the start button on the handle bars and the fuse cooled off.

At this point I am guessing that this start button switch is bad.  Any ideas?

Anyone know where I can source one or if any chinese one can be retrofit?

I just got a Kymco Super 8 150

It has a new battery.

When you turn the key, the lights don't come on, the horn doesn't work, starter button doesn't work, basically there is no power to the bike.
I am able to jump the starter solenoid and crank over the motor.  I replaced the starter solenoid.

Still no power to the bike.

I am thinking it might be the ignition switch, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot beyond what I have done.  Anyone know where to look next.  (Also looking for a service manual for this Super 8 150).

BUMP!! IDN if people still do that...

Does ANYONE have a service manual for the Super 8 150?   Any year would likely be relevant.

If you have access to a service manual please share it would really help the community.  As far as I am concerned there is nothing posted on the net...
