If you have had issues since changing it, I'd say you need to check the gap. The plugs don't come pre-gapped.

Maybe check the plug.

Super 8 / Re: Help 2012 super 8 50 27mph

Yeah, with the new belt, I got a little speed back, but it's still just not doing it. Put the Malossi 9.0g weights back in instead of my 6.5g Ninja sliders and the speed is up again. I can't win! I swear the scoot just likes me to keep tinkering!

My next plan is to just get a variety of weights and see what works best for where the scoot is at now.

I wanted to pick up a muffler and install my air filter and jet it, but a Triumph Thruxton is looking more and more likely in the spring!

Or you could do that!  ;D

@ ill_eagle94  - Your Super 8 must be running good. haven't seen you lately.

Ha! I was maxing out at 27mph by the time my belt came in. Now I'm back to 33ish. I'm frustrated and thinking I need heavier weights to get more top end. All I want is 40mph... I can cruise at 33mph at 1/4 throttle or full throttle, it makes no difference.

I took the whole luggage compartment off and then unhooked the hose from the bottom of the oil reservoir. I then placed a cool whip bowl under the reservoir to catch the oil.

LOL @ the Supercharger. I don't think the engine has enough power to turn a supercharger. It takes power to make power with those.

I'd drain the tank just to be safe, or run it down a bit then drain it.

I switched to Dominator back in July. I drained the Spectro that I had in the tank and filled her up.

Do you know what oil is in it currently?

Where are you located?

Just ordered a new belt, hopefully that will get some of my top end back. The scoot seems to be getting slower and slower.

I went with a Gates premium in 748x18x28. Hopefully that matches up well.

Your link shows an empty cart. Haha!

I added one to my cart, then I added 20 of them. It still calculated it out to the same dollars per quart.

10
Um, I added a Litre to my cart and it's 16 bucks. That's way more than what I paid for the Amsoil.

11
Ordered a gallon of Amsoil Dominator oil. 38 bucks shipped. Saves me 10 dollars over the same amount of Royal Purple and supposedly is the cats ass!

Well, I'm running the stock filter, pipe, and airbox. I'm afraid to remove the airbox and put my filter on without jetting, and I don't want to jet until I do the pipe too.

I have to squeeze the belt together a couple of times in the middle to get the belt to slide off the boss after I pull the var outside plate off. It is all the way down and tight.

Usually I just squeeze on the outside of the clutch pulley and it stays loose enough to pop the belt off.

I'm using the stock belt too.

What are you guys running for aftermarket belts?

EDIT: Noticed the scoot runs a lot quicker when it's 85-90 degrees out than when it's 55-60 degrees out too.

14
So are you saying the belt should sit higher than his is in that picture?

I wonder if it's there, if I could sand it down on a rotary tool of some sort.
