Had one of these evil nightmare machines at the shop. Cust rode machine the stored over several months then no start. Rebuild carb, drain tank, fresh no ethanol gas etc.... Would start and idle but when reved a few times would die. Acted like fuel starvation. Carb on and off several more times, float checked and varied from 14.8 mm spec. All same results. Pulled tank again cleaned fuel valve replaced filter all with same results. THE FIX IS NOT FUEL RELATED. Kymco lawyers insisted a module the looks just like a gy6 ac cdi module even using the same connectors is the stupid issue. The FIX...... Cut the black wire and the black/white wire at this module. The simply splice them together. The black wire is switched 12 volts hot. The black/white wire is the 12 volt input to feed the bigger box which is the cdi module. To prove this out, connect the black/ white wire to battery positive then start engine. You can not leave this connected at the cdi draws 80ma even when key off. Thus the other black wire to feed switched 12 volts to the cdi. Problem no more. Enjoy.
