People GT 300i / Engine loosing power with "2 dots" of Fuel
« on: October 02, 2024, 06:26:55 PM »
Hello guys,
I have my GT 300I for two years and 16000KM on it. Never had any issue. Do my maintenance always before time/KM. Recently I've been experiencing some loss of power when the fuel mark went near 2 dots of fuel remaining. Yesterday I had this problem and thought it was bad quality fuel as the problem went away as soon as I filled up the tank. Today I did a 100KM trip with no issues and, as soon as I got the same point as yesterday (2 dots of fuel remaining), the scooter started to loose power and I had to be very cautios with the throttle to make it to the fuel station. It's like, it goes little bit better on leveled ground but as soon as I throttle up or have to go uphill, it starts to loose power at the point that I have to stop completely. As soon as I filled up the tank it went away again.
Before I filled up the tank, I visually checked for remaining fuel on the tank and there were more than enough fuel.
Never had this issue before, I have driven some times to the 1 dot fuel mark and never had this loss of power issue.
Does someone already had this issue? The Kymco repair shop told me that It might be a fuel pump issue but it's strange that it only happens at an especific fuel quantity.
Thank you very much!
Kind regards,
Willian
