Anyone have issue with the fuel gage?

I have more than 1/2 a tank of fuel, the gage is just above empty.

so the solution is to buy a new float?

I think the spec is wrong.  Both my old carb and new carb measure the same

Maybe this helps, it's how I measure on certain DELORTO carburators, measure in mm, bigger carbs might have higher swing.

Both my old and new kymco carbs measure 11mm
See pic.  Float is just touching spring.  It about 30 degrees.

how are you measuring height? Shop manual for my old Honda with a Keihin CV carb says to measure with carb and float tipped vertical and then start tipping to the side, maybe 22.5 degrees to 45 degrees, which just allows the needle to seat. That is where measurement is taken, not with the float bowl in the horizontal position, as that reading will be lower.

I have worked on a ton of Keihin carbs for my hondas. Always spot on.  I slightly tilt the carb until it barely rests on the spring.

I measure the float at the highest point, to the base of the carb.  Same as the keihin.

All,

Been struggling to correctly set and check the float height on the Xciting 250.

The manual says 18mm, which is WAY off.  Its not even close.

Anyone know the correct height on the float?

Xciting 250 / 2008 Kymco Xciting 250 Wire Routing Help
« on: September 10, 2023, 01:53:39 PM »
Hello,

I am new to the Kymco scooters.  Picked up a 2008 250cc with 17k miles, non running.

The wires running to the bystarter/choke, the carburetor heater and the TPS, do not seem to be routed correctly.

Anyone have a picture?  The service manual is useless.
