Love it!
So true….i used to ride in a t-shirt and jeans and a pair of shades…..now i wear more and more gear and ride slower and more cautiously than ever, and do more miles on my scooter (x-town) than my cb500x!!

In trucks its easy to hit the gas and brakes and get the rear wheels to burn rubber!

….done it a few times in my youth…!😄

Thank you for the education Stig!

So the cheaper magnet plugs should checked (pull on the magnet? ) to make sure the magnet doesn’t detach.

And the donut magnet is put onto the oil filter (if your bike has one!) which is a great solution as theres no way for it to break away. Just hope the seal isn’t compromised?

Maybe goldplugs  are worth the extra $$??

Sometimes you get a deal, and sometimes you get what you paid for!

Great comparison Stig!

As a proud x-town 300 owner (the very colors you showed!) i can answer your questions.

The lights are permanently on (dual headlight, not led, but very bright) with switch for full beam (brights) vs low beam (dip).

The bike is really a 276cc single cylinder, 2 valve engine. Its very capable (I’m 203lbs…but I’m working on it!) and it easy gets to 60-70 mph and thats about as fast as I want to go on it!

The brakes (disc with Abs front and back ) are exceptionally good.

There are some additional led lights on the front, but these are for fashion not function! They look cool though.

It is a Taiwanese bike, apparently made on a production line that produces honda and bmw scooters for European market.

Gets about 56 mpg (i ride it hard and have only done 750 miles )

I love it!

Ask any questions!

Nice pictures!

The 3-wheelers are kinda cool….might be neat in the winter!

To re-hydrate….reduce the pressure!🤪🤪

Only 89 people voted so far….? Not many

And not many for the phenomenal under-appreciated x-town 300!

Love the summer air /winter air comments!

Who knew you were all such comedians?!!

And the blinker fluid…nice…but that ones done the circuit!

Ok so as per the formula (i think) drop in temperature means drop in volume of air, so in the enclosed space of a tire, means less pressure right?

So if you want to run on lower pressure to increase surface area (contact patch) or increase working temperature as someone mentioned, you dont have to do anything! Mother Nature and science do it for you.😄

If you want to run at the recommended pressures you need to be aware of significant temperature drops and pump some are in!

This is the first time I’ve ever had the tpms on my scooter….couldn’t quite afford the AK550 at the time, so had to settle for the x-town 300 and a seperate tpms. Interestingly it also shows tempature of the tires (or the air in each tire) so this will be cool to observe! (Excuse the pun - trying to keep up with you guys!)

The back tire heats up far more than front. I am not sure i would have guessed that….front has turning forces and deceleration but both are sporadic…the back had acceleration and deceleration.

Interesting….!

All

I have tire pressure monitoring (after market) which is an awesome unit giving me real time data on front and back tire pressures and temperature!

From Summer to Fall/Winter my tires drop about 5 or 6 psi….!
I think I will inflate them to the correct pressure again….does anyone else do this?

Thx

Stig….looks like we are representing north and south ohio!!

I was moaning about the temperature drop this weekend….and yes the leaves are falling, wet roads etc.

Not that its a solution to everything, but the ABS on the Kymco x-town 300i is excellent- both front and back.

I might be crazy but i kinda love slamming on the back brake and hearing/feeling the back tire struggle to grip and the abs braking and releasing many times a second!
Fun fun fun….obviously only when there’s no dangers/people/traffic/ corners etc!
(I’m not that crazy!)

Thanks for the supportive info!

Stig - it sounds like it must take about an hour for you to get dressed on a cold morning!

And Neil in cheshire….appreciate the defense! I used to ride my KH 125 ex in Southport, Merseyside to and from college (King George V) all year round, even with frost on the roads…was very silly i think when i look back!

Anyway….I have some additional plastic deflectors i am going to add to my x-town before i buy a whole new screen…or i will take the screen off my chinese scooter and make a extended hybrid version with both!

If it works…i might post a picture….!😄

Thanks!
Guess I sounded a bit wimpy moaning about 45F !
😩

I think its the transition from jeans and t-shirt (I know its not right) to coats/gear etc!

My goal is to eliminate/ minimize wind chill….if its 32F then the wind chill might be another 15 below that.😬

So i will use everything i have to make a screen hit the cold air instead of me.
I use multiple wind screen extenders to push the air around in every direction….it will not look nice, but it will work!
(I’m an engineer….function beats fashion!)

Any good sites for super tall/wide screens for a 2023 x-town 300??

Thx!
