I don't have an answer for you but, what are you going to do about the gas tank cap?

Agility 50 / Re: How to cut the cdi
« on: June 08, 2011, 06:11:40 PM »
I just cut the CDI wire on my 2006 Agility 50 two hours ago. 15 seconds with a hacksaw and it was done. I had to dig into the cut a bit to see that I actually cut a wire. Picked up about 6-7 MPH on a straight, flat street. Now does 40 MPH with no other modifications.

Downtown 300 / Acceleration
« on: June 08, 2011, 01:32:41 AM »
I have been considering buying a Downtown 300, especially after seeing one parked on the street in Annapolis last night. I have a Agility 50 which I use to get around town, other than that I've alway been a motorcycle person. I've owned many cycles up to 1000 cc. In my mind I'm trying to do a comparison of the acceleration of a Downtown 300 compared to a 300 cc motorcyle. I've not been able to find any reviews listing the typical 0 - 60 mph time for a Downtown 300. I love the rush that comes with a motorcyces's acceleration so I don't thing I'd be happy with something that couldn't beat your typical car in a streetlight to streetlight race. So does anyone have the data I'm looking for?

Agility 50 / Stalling
« on: June 03, 2011, 12:47:21 PM »
My 2006 Agility 50 starts immediately when I hit the start button and runs just fine at first. When I drive down the street it stalls at every stop sign for a couple of miles. Then it runs just fine. It is acting as if the electric choke was cutting off before the scooter engine is really warm. It has a new carb. on it with a new choke. To test the new choke I switched the electric choke unit from another scooter that I know is good and it makes no difference. So it is not the carb. or choke. I don't know how it ran before I replaced the carb. as it didn't run at all when I got it.

I threaded a 6 mm bolt into it. Quieter now.

I don't know the ID, but the OD is about 3/4 inch, I.E about the same diameter as the exhaust pipe.

Agility 50 / Exhaust system question
« on: May 19, 2011, 01:11:03 AM »
My 2006 Agility 50 has a "tee/open port" in the exhaust pipe a several inches before the muffler. The majority of the exhaust noise comes from this opening. when I put my foot over it the scooter gets much quieter. What is the purpose of this opening?

Agility 50 / Re: Agility 50 idles, but won't run
« on: May 19, 2011, 01:04:13 AM »
Ok, so draw jet is the main jet. Thanks. I'll remove carb. and clean jets again, and clean accelerator jump and lube linkage, springs, etc. I can't tell if it backfires as I can't get it above idle or it dies.

bthmteck, I cleaned all the jets with cleaner and compressed air, but tomorrow I'll remove the carb to clean the accelerator pump. You refere to a "draw jet". This is a term I'm not familiar with, which jet is this?

Agility 50 / Agility 50 idles, but won't run
« on: May 18, 2011, 10:03:28 PM »
I got a 2006 Agility 50 that had not been run in about two years. It had no key so I had to rig up a jumper to simulate the ignition switch. I first it would crank but not fire up. I then cleaned out the fuel tank, removed and cleaned the carb., replaced the spark plug, changed the oil, and put a good battery in it. Now it fires up and idles just fine. The problem is the as soon as I open the throttle, even when the engine is warm, it dies immediately. The only thing I didn't dismantle and clean on the carb. was the accelerator pump( I forgot to do this and didn't remember until I had it reinstalled). Could this be the source of the problem or is there something else I overlooked?

Agility 50 / Ingition Switch wiring
« on: May 15, 2011, 10:14:55 PM »
Somebody gave me a 2006 Agility 50. There is no key or manual with it. It has not been run in a least two years. Before I invest in a new ignition switch and battery I want to see if it will start. To do this I need to simulate the operation of the ignition switch using jumper wires. The current switch has five wires coming off of it. A red, a black, two green and one black with white tracer. The red, black, and green go to a six position white plastic connector, of which only four are used. The black with white does not go to this connector, but to a separate plug. This separate female plug that this black/white wire plugs into has a blue wire with yallow tracer on it. I have a battery I'm going to take out of another scooter I have to power this test.

Also, is ther anything else I should do besides changing the fuel and checking the oil?
