Hi GPF590,
My source was the American Motorcyclist magazine some months ago on the StateWatch page!  I don't know any other documentation...

Pennsylvania recently passed the law that after a reasonable wait, you can proceed with caution against the red light!

Thanks Racewalker.  I will take your advice and check the switch continuity and go from there!  It may be a few days but I will post what I find..

Thanks again.     Oldie

Downtown 300 / Rear Brake Light Switch
« on: June 23, 2013, 06:53:08 PM »
The rear brake light switch is not working, the front is so it's not the bulb.  I want to get at the switch and check the contacts or replace it if needed!
Has anyone had the top plastic cover off the handle bars to expose the connection to the master cylinder?  I see the 2 screws that will need to be
removed and also have to take the mirrors off.  I would appreciate any helpful hints for this process...( any clips or tabs on the plastic to be careful
not to break).  Thanks to all for such a great forum!

Downtown 300 / Re: Anyone found touchup paint yet?
« on: May 15, 2013, 09:25:58 PM »
I had talked to my local Kymco dealer about touch-up paint and he said it wasn't available for the Downtown!
Said I should check with our local paint shop that supplies paint for body repair!  They do have a computer setup
and they make an aerosol Spray can of the color you need for a match.   Trouble is the cost of $30 USD per can!
I wanted just the little bottle with the brush in it...Keep us informed if you find any,  Good Luck.

Downtown 300 / Re: Rust on disk brake
« on: March 25, 2013, 06:13:38 PM »
I think you will find your disk is made of steel and any moisture will create some rust!  If you ride in the rain you will probably find the surface will show evidence of rust, however as you use the scoot and the brakes,  the rust will disappear and not effect the braking process!  The way to avoid any surface rust is to install a quality stainless steel disk.           Good Luck,  Ed

Thanks for the replys.. I did use the silver touch-up paint for our 2011 Jeep Liberty.  I must say it couldn't get
any closer to match.  I used a generic Flat Black for the trim.

I'm definitely a "Center Stand" convert.

Downtown 300 / Touch-up Paint
« on: August 27, 2012, 10:24:31 PM »
Well now I did it!!!  Moved the scoot around in the garage (cement floor) and used the side stand to park it on.
When I came back 20 minutes later there my baby layed on her side on the floor!  After I wiped my tears and changed my underwear I picked her up and put her on the center-stand.  Scrapped top to bottom and front to back!!
Nothing broken thank goodness.  I will replace the rear body cover and panel below floorboard.  Then I can get away
with just touch-up!  My question is if anyone has gotten any OEM Kymco touch-up paint.  My dealer said today
he didn't think touch-up paint was available.

He recommended checking one of our local automotive paint suppliers who match paint through computer and make
up their own.  I'm going to need the Bright Silver, Flat Black, and the Metal Bronze color of the grab bar and the lowest
panel.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,  Oldie

Alvin,  I have never been to a "Scooter Rally".   I have however attended probably 50 or so Motorcycle rallies over the
last 20 years.  It sound like a lot of the activities are geared about the same with rides and bike games!  I will
have to check on the Not Summit Point Rally.   Do you know the location in Gettysburg and do you need pre-registration?

Alvin,  it was great to hear about the rally and that you had a great time.  I live just South of TMI on the other side
of York.   I am wondering if you are anywhere in the neighborhood?
