Super 8 / Deleting oil pump
« on: August 31, 2024, 12:31:32 AM »
Anyone have any pics or links to videos of doing this !. And please I understand the pros and cons of deleting it.. I just got the bike old owner replaced the OEM carb with some china junk and naturally tossed the oem carb smh.. so lucky me I have a polini CP19 on hand not being used and already have the malossi intake manifold for the swap. Bike does have BBK + pipe carb + reeds. Along with ALL of my scooters + mx bikes are premix so it's not somthing I'm not used to already doing.

never mind ! i got it all figured out used a multimeter .green wire is positive for all those wondering and or if you do the swap . its actually super simple all you need to do is drill out the holes i used a small drill bit then this guy https://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/drill-driver-bits/step-drill-bits/2-piece-titanium-nitride-coated-high-speed-steel-step-drills-96275.htmlto make it the perfect size then go order these>  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F649C6K?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details then what i did was left the oem kymco male bullet connectors. cut them in the middle then soldered them together along with used marine wire shrink wrap ( it contains glue that when the wire shrink wrap shrinks down the glue seals everything .) anchor brand shrink wrap. the oem bulbs fit perfect everything works as it should looks cleaner imo without all the bs hanging down.

so im in the process of retrofitting the turn signals into the acutal oem light spots.. already did the headset blinkers . and the back all i need to figure out is which is positive and negative on the back turn signals . there is 1 set of wires green and orange and the other set is blue and green. on the bike would that mean green is the ground and the colors are positives or opposite.

just going to throw this out there . i have no idea what your current variator sliders are weight wise BUT scootertronics ... suggest staying at 8grams and above .  get a digital scale off amazon or hit harbor freight they also have cheap scales ..

" Kymco AC 47mm 70cc Big Bore Kit Air Cooled Two Stroke Engines

Affordable big bore for the horizontal Kymco engines used in Super 9 and Super 8 two stroke 50cc Kymco scooters.

Along with a carb upgrade of at the very least an upgrade to stroke carb with main jet and performance air filter the torque and top end speed wakes right up to keep up with traffic.

Do not forget to service your CVT with new kevlar belt and Dr Pulley Sliders at 8gram do not go below 8gram, Kymco scooters do not act right with anything below 8grams on weights.

NOT for Vertcal made engines only horizontal used in these models

Super 8 / Re: Super 8 2T air box/ carb question.
« on: July 28, 2024, 09:01:57 PM »
i did a bunch of research . SO it seems if you want to maintain the stock style carb setup using the stock throttle cable they do make a couple carbs Arreche 17.5mm is one that literally bolts on although they are almost 200$ for the carb alone without any jets... im more than likely going to get a scooterswapshop adapter for the carb + delete the oil pump as everything ive read you have to add 1oz of extra oil in the tank to meet the new bbk needs and thats pushing it.. so figure just delete the gear on the oil pump aka deleted* and run premix.. will need a couple odds and ends ( adapter like 28$/carb 100$/ cable setup like 30ish.. i think going with a 21mm dellorto BS carb will be 1. easy to tune .. and 2. way way more power and around the same price as doing the Arreche 17.5mm. should be night and day difference using the 21mm vs 17.5mm should have more top end and overall power

Super 8 / Super 8 2T air box/ carb question.
« on: July 27, 2024, 04:06:19 PM »
Are kymcos similar to honda elites af16 i know the kymco is not a af16 and is vertical like a minarelli . BUT Being they use the same style stock carb with the electric choke with the honda elite sr50 I have if running the stock carb you MUST run the stock air box even if you do a BBK and up jet you cannot run a pod filter or it runs like absolute crap. My super 8 has a malossi kit and pipe and head . But the previous owner left the stock carb when way up on the jet and put a pod filter does it need the oem airbox to run good with the stock carb?. I'm weighing my options to get like a polini cp19 or somthing similar

Still have any parts ?.

Is the factory air filter a big deal.?. I know on the honda elite sr af16 motors if you run the stock carb it makes a huge difference.
