Technical | How To / Re: Kymco People 250 idles very high

Well now, suddenly, and after I turned the idle way down to normal, it starts and runs great. Whatever it was, it probably had something to do with either the choke was clogged than freed, or after using Ocean Foam, it took a while but cleared any gunk built up from sitting two years...

Technical | How To / Kymco People 250 idles very high
« on: November 29, 2015, 12:05:55 AM »
Due to illness, I had to store my Kymco People 250 in storage for two years. A couple of months ago, I took it out of storage, had a new battery put in and everything gone over at a $332 cost. When I got it back, it was extremely hard to start. I bought some Ocean Foam and put that in with a full tank of gas. Didn't help. It would take a constant trying for nearly 10 minutes before I finally got it to start. A few days ago, it now starts right away, but the idle is very high. I tried waiting up to 5 minutes and it would not go back to normal. The temperature outside is 65 degrees. I haven't yet tried to ride it until I can understand why it's doing this. I have to firmly hold on the brake handle or it wants to take off. That's how high the idle is. I am perplexed. Anybody?

I ride with two artificial hips and one artificial knee (I may be handicapped but I'm not dead, and besides, my doctor doesn't know). My only complaint (because I have back problems also) is the hard ride over potholes and such. You can adjust the rear shocks (which I did), but still rough when going over bumps and potholes. Someone once mentioned a gel cushion. I don't know if anyone on the 250 has one of these. I would be curious to know if it helps... One of the top selling points for the People 250 for me personally, is the large wheels for stability....

I like what appears to be a two-bulb headlight. Am I right?

People 250 / Overheating In Las Vegas
« on: June 07, 2011, 11:01:04 PM »
The problem with my 250 is that whenever it reaches over 105 here in Las Vegas the scooter dies at a light unless I keep the brake on and revved up. Naturally, taking it in to the one, and only one repair center here, knows you have no other place to take it, therefore they name their own price, which is $110 just to look, then comes labor, parts, and other irritants. Does anyone know of a possible solution or how one can change / adjust something to alleviate this nauseating and temper testing problem? I'm good with tools and already replaced the speedometer cable (wasn't fun)...

thanks, D
