Technical | How To / 2005 Kymco People 50 - Replacement battery
« on: May 07, 2014, 02:57:30 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I am attempting to buy a new battery for a scooter that I purchased with no battery. The Kymco manual I found online says 12v-6Ah, will the below battery be an appropriate choice? Also will it fit in the compartment?

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/autocraft-power-sport-battery-agm-4l-bs-40-cca-4l-bs/2090287-P?vehicleIdFromReq=-1&isAllVehicle=true&vehicleIdSearch=-1&searchTerm=4l-bs&showTitle=#fragment-2

Thank you all in advance.

People 50 / Kymco People 50 - Seat Lock & Instrument Assembly
« on: July 11, 2011, 06:50:54 PM »
I recently purchased a 2007 Kymco People 50. However the seat lock is taken apart and neither the speedometer or odometer work and the gas gauge works randomly.

1. Could someone please attach a few pics of the lock and how the setup works, so that I can put back together. I have two bridges, 1 spring, and 1 bar with multiple bends and 4 screws.

2. During a over all maintenance check on my scooter at my local scooter repair shop and they told me the Instrument Assembly cable was turning, so I must replace the complete unit for $160 + 2hr labor at $40/hr. I am looking to perform myself as the part is $100.00 online. Does any one have input on this part and or the replacement of it?

Thank you everyone in advanced.
