Perfect, thanks.

The HID system you outlined clearly says that it runs off the battery, so that rules out the 50.

I'll try the plug first and see if that works.  I assume I can pick up the NGK at any local parts store?

People 50 / Need some help troubleshooting a start issue

This problem has been consistent on my scooter since I bought it and the original dealer was of no help.  I am going to ask Sportique about it, but thought you all might be able to help as well.

After a long ride, say 8.5 miles from my office back to home in the evening, I park the scooter in the garage, where it sits overnight.  The next morning, I start it, it runs for about 5 seconds, stalls, and then will not start.  I have to get to work, so I either drive or take the other scooter.  When I return home in the evening, the scooter starts right up.  I know I am getting a spark (pulled the plug wire and confirmed this).  What I am not sure of is if any gas is getting to the engine.  Almost acting like a lot of vapor is in the line or something.  Any ideas?  I know this isn't normal, because my wife's scooter (same year/ model) fires right up.

Any help is appreciated.  2009 People 50 2 stroke.

TY.

I am well past due for a tuneup, so I am going to take it in to Sportique for that and to have them de-restrict it.  Might check in to the 70cc option.

How would I know if I have an S or not?  All I know is that it is a 50cc 2 stroke.

Getting about 62 on my People 50 two stroke.  I am also at 5,280' in elevation, not sure if that makes a difference though.

Very shiny... washing my scooter is one thing I haven't done yet.  Good find for $25.  I'll have to check out the flea market you speak of.  I would love to get some commuter music.  I was thinking of getting a tiny amp with a headphone jack and volume dial and carve out a spot near the glove box to put it... there is a lot of empty space back there.  It is a lot of work, but I'll just chalk it up to a learning experience.
PS.  If you want to get  a buddy seat... order one from columbiascooters.com to save $20 or so.

Haven't washed it, but it has been ridden through the rain. ;)

Oddly enough, I was mildly considering this the other day too, if for no other reason than to have some music on as I was commuting in.  I quickly dismissed it though as being more work than it's worth.  I did add a motorcycle trunk case to my scooter yesterday though.  Picked it up for $20 at the Mile High Flea Market yesterday (I am in Denver too).

I am 235# and ride my stock 2009 People 50 from Lakewood to downtown and back at least 3 times a week (If it will start in the morning - today it did not.).  It's rolls along just fine.
