Mine says "First Edition, Feb 2005". So I guess your's is later, although I dunno how come that they both are first editions.
According the the dealer, they said that 10W40 is okay, but just wanted to have second opinion here to confirm.

Anyway, any recommended brand? and is it better to use mineral oil for the break in?

Very strange, on my manual it says "Specified Oil: SAE15W40 or equivalent, Capacity/Exchanging Capacity: 1.1L/0.9L", on Page 48 !

People s200 / Break-in oil

Hi, just got my 2009 S200 two days ago (brand new zero miles).
In the manual it says that I should use 15W40 oil, but it just seems impossible to find any branded motorcycle specific 15W40 oil and throughout the forum it seems that most of you are fine with 10W40. What I know so far is the lower W number the better for cold climate and that the range should be kept as small as possible because that means less additives.

- Any reason why use 10W40 oil besides it's the closest match, and will it compromise the lifetime of the engine (even long term)?
- Since it's still in the break in period, I read that mineral oil is the way to go for now. Is this true and why?
- Finally what are the recommended oil brands for each application, engine, gearbox and brake?

thanks
