Thanks for that, most that I can figure, but where do I see the T on the f/wheel, is that through the hole in the front of the clutch housing?

I think it is through the hole in front of the clutch should index mark on the crankcase and just align the two up.

Turn the flywheel so that the “T” mark on the flywheel aligns with the index mark on the crankcase. Keep the round hole on the camshaft gear facing up and align the punch marks on the camshaft gear with the cylinder head surface (Position the intake and exhaust cam lobes down.) and install the camshaft onto the cylinder head. Install the cam chain over the camshaft gear.

I must admit i do like the look of the up never seen or heard of it before but it is ar really nice looking car and i do like its very bold shape if that is the correct way to describe it and it looks very user freindly, i have had to hire quite a few small cars over the last few weeks to take my wife to hospital appoitments, i have hired chevrolet sparks, vauxhall corsa's and fordfiesta's and why they are all trying to be very modern with bits of chrome round the air vents and dials that you dont know if your suppose to push or turn etc they all seem to go over the top in trying to be modern and stylish were as vw kia and hyundai seem to have a good balance of modern styling and simplicity at the same time....

That is what I like about the basic up! no fancy trim to fall off a nice simple 3 cylinder 1 litre engine and a solid feel. Handled really well and was actually fun to drive.

Keeping both would be great, but I won't really use the AG50 much to be honest except in the summer most likely and for that I will use my push bike for the 10 mile round trip trying to prevent the middle age spread  ;D. Other issue is the my AG50 hates not being used, leave it for a couple of weeks as I have just don and is a pig to start taking about half an hour to get it going. Other issue is no where to store it especially with the Leon going for a bigger car so they both won't fir in the garage and still have the up! to park.

I have done this many times over the last 18 years one year i want a car next i want another scoot looking back wish i had just kept both then i would never have wasted money buying and selling them over the years, i done my cbt last week as i ride my a50 on my car licence and im now insured on my wifes agility rs 125 and compared to the A50 it feels like a rocket and is great for the rural roads where i live that go on for miles before you get to the nearest town. My wife no longer wants to ride her scoot any more as she has a heart condition and also last week came of the scoot she got a badly grazed knee and a burn on the bag of her leg where the scoot fell on top of her hence why the scoot did not even have a scratch on it. So as she will no longer scoot i need to look into getting a car im thinking the hyundai i10 mainly because of the 5 year warranty and rac cover etc and just great value for money as for the scoots im keeping them as i have had enough of buying and then selling vehicles and losing to much money....

Sorry to hear about your wife, it is all too easy to come off just down to bad luck and sometimes the weather conspiring against you. If I ever go back to two wheels it would be a 125cc. I have lost more on cars but even the AG50 will have lost £500 in a year at a guess when I get it on Ebay and sell it. i10 along with the sister Picanto was on my list just was not too taken by the looks and the wheels looked too small for the car IMO. But is better equipped than the VAG up! Mii and Citigo clones and some good offers on it too with plenty of spec for the money including A/C!! LIke you say five year warranty compared to the up!'s three is also good value. But I am biased as having a soft spot for VAG products  :-* Only thing other than personal taste the up! beat's the i10 on was the £149 three year servicing deal which is less than having a dealer service my AG50 at £60 a time over three years!

Agility 50 / AG50 going

Well not quite yet will be the end of September maybe early October. Had toyed with a faster 50cc like a Gillera Runner or Sppedflight 3 but to be honest after de-restricting the AG50 and has been running better than expected. Thought of a 125 as well but with better than expected sales of my books this summer a dog and a baby on the way felt I may as well go back to a car will make life drier and warmer for me and greater flexibility with three children.

After a hunt and nearly going for a SEAT Mii have ordered a VW up! just the basic spec but with electric windows and central locking which are an extra on the bobby base model and the Sat Nav/Media/Bluetooth. Funny part is real world economy is actually only 5-10mpg less than my AG50 and road tax £4 a year more. Just a wee bit more costly to buy and £70 more a year to insure. Mine will be identical to this:

Will miss the AG50 in many ways but not on a really wet or cold day!! Which in the two months I have left will prove worthwhile with the current road works whilst they replace 1.2 miles of gas mains one of the roads to work.  ;D

If your still running those mixed rollers to give 6g then you prob want to think of ordering a full set of 6g's then? The lighter rollers will wear down quicker than the heavier ones. Mixing up is really just for testing out to find your ideal weight, once you get it then its best to replace with a set of that weight.

Did you try a stiffer torque spring? 1000 or 1500 rpm? If it feels like you could use better power up hills thats a cheap mod.

If you were to fit a race variator, oh i dont know........maybe a Malossi Multivar  ::), you may even enjoy it even more?
..................just sayin................. that' be my next mod ..............  ;D

Good thing with scoots is its all pretty cheap and quick to try and if you dont like it you can always put it back.  :)

I may well go down the race variator path next, not changed the torque spring yet but 6g rollers seem to work well, only slight slowdown on hills now. Agree mods are cheap and very easy to fit. It seems that like changing the rollers have little effect until you derestrict.

On the emissions front all Euro and US models are fitted with a restricted CDi, Asian models are not as far as I could find, even if not to meet Euro 3 regs wonder why the difference? Motorbikes are due to go to Euro 5 this year  ???

All I know is that the OEM CDi is holding the engine back, when you twist the throttle with the OEM restricted CDi there is a slight hesitation that you don't notice until you un-restrict it. It is like the rev's build up ever so slightly more progressively as the rev's rise. For me my AG50 is exactly how I want it and the variator mod is now working properly as well. As I said the only reason to hold the engine back on a restricted CDi is for emission reasons  ???

Sterido - Yep have a bit of a mod bug, but have to admit I am going to enjoy my 'new' AG50 that feels like I have just upgraded to a better scoot and can blow main a 2T Scoot away  ;D

My AG50 is deffo livelier than it was, pick up is almost instant compared to previously. My personal feeling is the restricted CDi is also connected to emission regulations. As whilst I have a higher RPM the Scoot is more responsive and accelerates better throughout the rev range. Skoda did the same to the Fabia 1.4 16v Petrol back in 2004 and retarded acceleration in the name of emissions.  >:(

I have gone back and put a deeper cut in and found the wire, also felt some resistance when cutting it so knew it was there. Low and behold I have an extra 3mph, not fully tested it though. Engine note is also slightly different across the rev band, sounds smoother and less retarded than it did. Only did a short trip down the road, so will wait until I have had a few trips to work and back to fully comment. But my MY12 had a restricted CDi. Hope that is of use to everyone  ;D

Wondered where you'd got to  :)

Glad the scoots been good.

On the cdi thing, you can pick up an urestricted cdi off ebay for about a tenner. May make no difference but whats a lost tenner if it doesnt?

According to Kymco UK ALL a50's leave the facory with a restricted cdi, least thats what they told me when i emailed them  ???

Maybe try yourself and let us know if you get the same answer i did? The links on the Kymco site under contact us, contact tech dept.

How many miles you got on it now? I just hit 20,000km last week, running great, best its ever been (please dont let that jinx it  :D ). Just hit 50mph indicated again last week so all is sweet in my garden  :)

I put quite a deep cut in but did nothing, may well try a de-restricted CDi unit for £10 also going to finally get round to changing the mirrors as the stock ones are poor. I still only have 2.8K on it but then it is only a 10 mile round trip and I have used the push bike the odd day as well.

To hit 50 I would need to upgrade the variator as that seems to be what is holding the top speed back, you can hear it reach max speed indicated 42mph which is the top speed Kymco state.

Only strange and funny scoot story I have is Mr strange in his twenties driving a bright metallic green 04 plate Vauxhall Mervia, lights change green before I get to them so carry on past him. Mr strange pulls up to me at the next set of lights, shouting "You think your fast, just watch me I am faster than that piece of S***"?? At the next set of lights I was able to filter and ended up right in front of him to many expletives being shouted out of his window over the oh so trendy music NOT blearing out ???

I suppose not as strange as the women who shoved several razor blades up her vagina, or the man that tried to commit suicide with a cordless drill to the head, now that was more than a few drops of blood scattered about!!! Never a dull a moment for me  ???

Agility 50 / Scoot Update

Well I have not been on the Kymco forum shore for a wee while been busy with book writing and annoying people  ;D

As for the Scoot is is running great changed my oil to fully synth a few months back and is running much smoother and as the miles pile on is becoming a little bit faster, especially with the current warmer air. In fact it has been going so well I have scrubbed plans to change it in September, was behind an Piaggio NRG 50 and to be honest the difference in performance was not that great. I also still prefer the sound of my 4 stoke, with a few miles on these AG 50's are pretty perky.

Next time round it will be a 125cc to be honest but I can easily cope with another year out of the AG, since initial problems has not missed a beat. Top speed is still only an indicated 40mph as lost 2mph when I changed the variator weights by 0.5g but acceleration up hills and from a standing start is better so can cope with that. Did the cut in the CDi but did not change the top speed at all. As I had heard they are still restricted. Have no idea who is telling poorkie pies on the CDi bit???

End of my sermon - Chapter 5 Kymco owners handbook  ;D

Have you washed it recently or taken it out in the rain? Moisture getting in can cause an issues. Have you also emptied the drain hose beneath the variator won't be the cause in itself but can cause minor starting issues.

Is it actually turning over or not doing anything? When I had problems starting due to moisture mine I got a hairdryer to the engine and checked all the fuel pipes and filter for nay blockages or a kink.
