Xciting 500 / Re: resetting the oil light.

Good Grief, I guess I'm blind. I've been trying to get my "oil service" light off also. Now I see a button right side of dash to push. Hell to get old.
Ride on, Kymcorider.

That is a good possibility on why the power is low.
If the valves were tightened a little too much, the compression
will be a scratch low because of blowby on the valves. at least
have it checked soon before you burn a valve.
 good luck, Kymcorider

Xciting 500 / Re: Speedometer problem
« on: September 29, 2011, 06:31:49 AM »
Thanks you guys for posting info about the speedometer problems. My speedometer quit one day but the odometer kept working. Was about to try something like adjusting sensor one front wheel and screw that up when one day i turned on the key and the needle swung hard right then hard left and has worked every sence. Is everything going to fix that easy?

Greetings Dr. Scooter;
What are the possibilities of a few pictures of your 2007 scooter? That's a good price for that low mileage. take care, ride safe, Kymcorider

Loved the pics. Still loving my X500. I have to agree that the fuel tank should be 3 or 4 gal. Can't go more than a 100 miles without knowing where the next station is. That's okay i guess. Keeps us riders on our toes. youall ride safe, Kymcorider

Hi scoot rider,
If you we're able to push the seal in by hand it's not going to stay. Don't know of any adhesive that would work for that. I would definitely try new. has to tap in fairily tight. Ride safe, Kymcorider

Hey Guys,
It was quite interesting reading your conversation. The fun part was I have no idea what Dr. Pulley rollers are or where they are installed and what the are supposed to do. If you have the time and don't mind. Please give a quick run down. Thanks, Kymcorider

Hey Simon,
I have a 2007 X500 that I haven't had long. But maybe I can help a little. I found that I had to turn the wheel hard to the left if I wanted the key to turn counter clockwise to unlock the seat. Also, when you hook up the battery charger, you need to close the seat so the cargo light goes off. Will not charge with cargo light on. Hope that helps some. If i'm wrong, someone pease help us out. More info we can share the better. youall please ride safe, Kymcorider

Wow! Nice looking scooter. I just bought an 07 X500. So much different from the Honda spree I had years ago. I know absolutely nothing about the Kymco scooters and how they hold up. Talk about taking a chance. So far it's a beauty and rides out really nice with lots of power. Got my fingers crossed. You have fun with your scooter, it's going to turn a lot of heads. Ride safe, Kymcorider

Get this scooter fans. I've been whining cause my speedometer quit working for no good
reason a few days ago. Well Sunday morning I turn on the key and the needle swings all
the way clockwise and all the way back. So I'm thinking that's a strange one. I took off
for a ride and the speedometer has worked ever since. Go figure. Ride safe scooter friends.
