People 250 / Re: Fuel Tank Access?
« on: September 14, 2011, 02:00:47 AM »
Well, I was able to remove the entire foot panel and rear plastics all in one piece.  :)

The fuel gauge issue was a non-issue after all. The woman never saw the gauge move and thought there was a problem but it turns out she gets better mileage than she thought. I drained the tank with the key on and the gauge went down to empty right on cue.

I did a valve adjustment, cleaned the carb and installed a new plug and she's purring like a kitten. Nice scooter!

People 250 / Fuel Tank Access?
« on: September 10, 2011, 04:27:34 AM »
Hi all!

My name is Dave. I have been wrenching on scooters for a while. Mostly Chinese brands but I've done some work on a couple Kymco People 150's over the years.

I have a customer bringing me a 250 People on Sunday that has a fuel gauge that always reads "full" I figure the float/sending unit is the issue but I've never worked on this model before so I was hoping someone could post exactly which plastics I have to remove to get at the fuel tank and the order they have to come off so I don't break any tabs or waste time removing pieces I don't have to.

Thanks!  :)

Here's the scooter:
