Downtown 300 / Switch from S250 to Downtown 300?
« on: May 14, 2011, 08:08:17 PM »
Has anyone made the switch from the S250 to the DT300? I am considering the move but have yet to see the DT300 in person. How does it compare in handling? I am concerned about the smaller wheels. How does that effect the ride and the stability? Is there much difference in power? Any and all comparisons would be welcome.

I have a 2009 S250. I know that my mph does not light up, the km/hr does. Not sure about the fuel guage... I wish I could tell you. I'm in Maine and I have had to put the bike away for the winter. Can't wait for spring!

People 250 / S 250 coolant question
« on: July 19, 2009, 12:28:58 AM »
Hi,
I just bought my 2009 People S250 this week. It is a liquid cooled engine. I looked at the reserve tank eyehole and I can't tell if there is water in there or not. I have it on the main stand but I don't see anything. How can I tell if there is water in there? How do I fill it if there is not? I've checked the driver's manual and it doesn't give great info. I don't want to ruin the engine, so any help you can give me would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lisa

Do you like the S250? I am thinking about trading my S200 for the S250. I'm looking at the black one just like yours. Are there any storage areas up front or just under the seat? Is there a helmet hook under the seat? I love my S200 but I'm looking for a little more power without losing the agility and maneuverability for around town.

I ended up buying the Shad SH40. Easy to install, no additional mounting rack needed. Easy to open, close, lock and unlock. Case is easy to remove from the bike as well. Plus it looks good too! I'm happy with it so far.

General Discussion / S 200 Top case
« on: October 11, 2008, 11:58:48 PM »
Hi,
I just purchased a 2009 black S 200 and it will be delivered on Monday.
I'd like to add a top case to it but I'm not really sure which style or
size would match it. I've heard that a Givi would be good but which
model? I'd like to be able to easily remove the case when I'm not using
it. Do I need to buy additional mounting hardware? And I'd like it to
have the brake light feature. Above all, is this something that I could
install myself (limited mechanical ability)or should I get a dealer to
do it? Thanks for any info or pics that you can help with.

General Discussion / People S 200 vs. S 250
« on: October 08, 2008, 12:31:57 AM »
I am looking for my first scooter. I just passed my MSF course last weeknd. Yesterday I saw a Kymco People S 200 and liked what I saw. I did not get a chance to ride it because they had already taken the battery out for winter storage. I'm 5'8" and 190 lbs. I'll be using the scoot for commuting back and forth to work and for weekend fun. No highway riding, just country roads max speed 60 mph. I'd like to know if anyone has tried the S 200 or S 250 and what their experiences are with either one. Is the S250 worth the extra $1200? Are there differences in the body size/ shape? Any info would be great. I live in Maine so scooter season is almost over. I'll probably wait until spring to purchase unless I find a great deal. I now have 2 local Kymco dealers to choose from so I can see what each one will offer.
