Xciting 500 / Re: Selling my Kymco Xciting 500

Personally for a 2007 with that damage it's not worth it to me. With the cost of repair added to the $3,000 the price is to high. I have seen perfect X500's for the same $. And with the low miles it must have sat (not running for a long time), and that's not good. :-*

Brake lever is from the PO letting it fall over when he was trying to get on. He is in his 80s. I have had it a year. Only had 76 miles on it when I got it and I dont ride it much is why the low miles. As for the body/paint. It isnt bad enough to need "body work" it is only scuffed on the very edge.

Sissy Mary, the bike runs perfectly without issue. It did sit when the PO had it but It has never given me an issue in the year that I have had it. As for cost of repair. The only thing really needing repair is maybe a brake lever but it works fine as is. I didnt want to try to bend it back in fear it might break.

Xciting 500 / Re: Dark day for my Kymco

Thanks for the replies. Are the givi windshields taller than the stock model? I am not sure I want one too tall.
I just dont know enough about them.

Good call on the pin striping. I will look into that. Also touch up paint would be awesome. I think my bike is the charcoal color.

Xciting 500 / Dark day for my Kymco
« on: July 21, 2012, 03:23:15 AM »
Well stopped to get gas today and walked over to get some paper towels and *bam*
My bike fell over. Not sure what happened. I guess the kickstand may have not locked all the way in.
Anyways it fell against a cement post then bent my windshield then lay flat. I picked it up and checked over the damage.

Windshield popped back into shape but looks like someone went sledding on it on the pavement.
left brake lever is bent/curled up.
right mirror slamed against the windshield and is all marked up and loose.
scuffs all over the side panels.

I was so annoyed about the situation I was ready to sell the damn thing lol

Question now, is the widshield done for? If so where can I get another stock windshield? Didnt see anything on Ebay.

Is there something I can do about the scuffed up side panels so they dont look so bad?

Anyone know where I can get another brake handle?
Any help would be great. Thanks

I guess it was that last batch of gas I got. I ran new gas in it from another place and the problem stopped. Thanks for the suggestions.

I doubt its under warranty. Its a 2007 and I got it from an old man who kept it in an airplane hanger. It only had 75 miles on it when i got it =)

I have ridden it since October and its run perfect since then til now. I thought maybe there was an idle adjustment handy?

It only has a few hundred miles on it. I wouldnt think its something major. I use premium gas but I will check it out.

My Kymco has always started right up but starting yesterday, it just cranks. The only way I can get it started is to give it some throttle. Other than that it runs great but dies sometimes while in idle. This is a new issue and just starting happening. Any ideas? Is it an idle issue? Is there an easy adjustment?

Thanks

That was the rule I insisted upon with my first ex wife , apparently one of the many reasons I am now single . Good luck .

Haha nice!

Xciting 500 / Re: Overflowed The Gas A Tad

Well, I think it is a design flaw with the Xciting personally. They know its going to happen. Why couldnt they have redirected overflow elsewhere to the ground or something instead of it running out of the hand brake lever slot. Just stupid, in my opinion. Its one of the only gripes I have so far since I got it.

Yeah I figured that title would catch some attention...lol
Thanks for the responses. I will figure something out. Looks like the tom tom comes on its own mount right out of the box. Not sure if it comes off easily or if anyone has modified it. Was hoping someone else had experience with this brand of GPS. Also thanks for the link! looks like I might find a solution there.

I bought a tom tom the other day but I guess the glass is too curved for the mount to stick. Any ideas? Anyone else have a tom tom on their scooter?

Yeah, after removing compartment I saw that the light and the phone charger outlet were not even plugged in. They are now and issue is fixed.
