Also you have to squeeze one of the brake levers. It won't start unless the brake light is lit

Philly is right!  The trick is to be sure that both sides of the centerstand are in ground contact. I use to have trouble getting the bike up on the centerstand until I got rock before you step advice( 5"9" 175lbs). Now I just rock and step and the thing goes right up on the stand.

After you take the tupperwear off. (It will take about 10-15 min) The FIAMM 72112 Freeway Blaster Horn fits in the factory horn bracket just fine except it needs to be mounted backwards , the stud need to face towards the front of the scoot. The spade connectors fit the FIAMM just fine.
No need for a relay. This thing goes for about 10 bucks on Amazon . Its rated at 120db. It made my wife jump 2 feet in the air the first time I sounded it in the garage.

Downtown 300 / High End h8 bulbs

Hi Guys I have a question: Are any of the standard wattage super hyped h8  bulbs ( PIAA Xtreme White,GP Thunder Plasma or MTEC 2x Super White) that much better that a ordinary parts store H8 in the headlights of a DT300i? I like know if its worth the time and money to change out the stock bulbs.

It has been a few weeks and I have had a chance to remover the faring in the front of the DT 300. I found that all that Kymco did to disable the “wink” lights is cut the hot (+) leads to the bulbs. I can fix them to be turn signal by jump the hot side of the lead from the flasher circuit back to the bulb or I can fix them as running lights by Scotch Locking the wink light lead to the hot wire for the bezel LED s.
I want feed back as to which approach the forum thinks has the bigger safety factor Thanks

I'm going to give it a try on my Downtown 300i. I will let the forum know how it works out. Maybe pictures too.

It looks like the bulbs are there. I would require a total tupperwarectomy to look at the wiring.

I have a question for the forum. There are what appears to be turn signals or running lights in the faring just above the low beams on my 2011 DT 300i. Are they supposed to work ? (They don't) Or better yet can they be made to work ? It looks like there are amber bulbs in the lens.
