Cortez, thank you very much.
I have both the user and the service manual... Too bad we didn't bother to actually read it...

Xciting 500 / Engine oil
« on: June 05, 2014, 02:35:46 PM »
Hello,

A friend of mine just bought a 2005 Xciting 500.
The owner manual recommends 5W50 oil. The problem is that we cannot find motorcycle oil with that specification.
Eventually, we orderd car engine oil with this specification, but I would like to know what type of oil do you use for your X500.

Thanks,
George

I'm surprised to read this thread :)
I am from Romania and in Europe there are 2 types of parts dealers for Kymco.
Some dealers order from a warehouse located somewhere in Austria, the shipping time is 2-3 days; the problem is that these parts are pretty expensive. Some other dealers order from Taiwan. Shipping time is between 5 and 30 days and in rare cases 3 months. They are kind of cheap. For example OEM front brake disk for Xciting 500 2005 is about $85 (277 Romanian Leu)
I order from a guy in Bucharest and I never had issues with delivery time. On all the orders I placed (and I placed a lot for my old Grand Vista), the shipping time I was told before ordering was fulfilled.

Grandvista 250 / Re: Show-off your Grandvista's or Grand Dink's

first you unscrew all the screws on the interior side (pay attention, there may be 1 or 2 screws under the rubber mat). afterwards, you unscrew the windshield (4 or 5 bolts there). afterwards, under the dashboard, you should see 2 bolts holding the headlight. afterwards you just pull the front gently. you will need somebody to help you unplug the blinker cables and that's it.
