It's funny you said that about the kickstand bypass.  I was trying to start it this morning and it wouldn't.......I was about to start freaking out, but it was just the kickstand. ;D

I think i'm going to pass on the bypass for the brakes......I don't want to mess something up. ;D

Well I was hoping it would be easier.....but it wasn't.  You have to remove about 60 bolts and screws.  Not only did I have to take off both side scoops, I had to take off the side skirts (which means the whole center panel too).  The tail light has to come off along with the grab bars.  It took about 45 min.

So, now that I've got them off and am waiting for parts.......anyone know how to rewire the bike to that I get rid of having to squeeze the right brake to start it?  I did it on my other scooters.

Thank you,

Xciting 500 / Body Panels.....how do I remove them?

I'm trying to remove the rear right body panel.  I've removed all the screws that I can see but it still won't come out.  I even removed the under seat storage tray.  Are there instructions anywhere?

Thank you,

It's funny, the seller advertised it as an 08' but it ended up being an 07' when I saw the title.  Difference was that it was Carburated as opposed to Fuel Injected.  I didn't mind as I'm familiar working with Carbs and am very comfortable with them (plus I got a great price).  Thank you for the welcome!  I'm glad to now be a part of the Forum.

Thanks Hoolander!  I'm going to take your advice and wait until tomorrow to order.  The seller could have probably got $600 more if he would have bought this $90 part!  I'm going to have to make sure to keep your username in case I have an un-answerable question.

Thank you,

Welcome.  ;D Nice bike with low miles. There's a few of us on here with that year model. And yeah, I hear they can go fast.   ;)

Ok....just to make sure.....

If I have the Dark Blue......would this be the code I would buy?  83500-LBA2-E00-C6P

The codes look a little different from what I see posted from you. I just want to make sure.  Also mine is a 2007 (I'm not sure if that matters).

Thank you,

This is why I love forums!  Thank you very much.  Your response was way quicker than I expected!  I'm ordering it now.  As I gain knowledge on this scoot I plan to do the same.

Xciting 500 / New Kymco Owner With First Question on Day 1
« on: February 14, 2012, 05:11:31 AM »
Howdy,

My name is Choppastyle.  I've been a forum member on sites for every bike I've ever owned and am looking forward to being a part of this forum.

I bought a 2007 Kymco 500cc with 2,192 miles today after selling my 2nd Honda Helix.  I got it up to 100MPH on the way home (with room to spare)!  I couldn't believe it.  The reviews say a top speed of 87MPH!!?!??  I guess I got a "Special" one.

So I got a stellar deal on the bike because the rear right body panel had a crack in it.  I went looking for new panels when I got home but all I could find were unpainted ones.

My Question: Where can I find pre-painted Kymco body panels?  Is it possible or do I have to get them painted myself?  Any Honda panels I've bought in the past have been pre-painted.  I'd really appreciate any feedback.

Thank you,

Choppastyle
