Theres a bike breakers in Liverpool i used a couple of times who were reasonable, only cost me £12 for a belly pan panel delivered to Glasgow and £8/£9 for a volt regulator for my agility. Will be 2nd hand but at least then it will blend with the rest of it.

Give them a call tomorrow maybe and ask, im sure they prob got a brake lever in going cheap.  Or just look on ebay, sure thered a 2nd hand one on there cheap enough?

Heres the details for that breakers if you want it anyway, theyre on ebay too.

Hills - 01695 551 974.

Hopefully thats still the number, i used them about 5-6 months ago.

Thanks, will consider them if I need a brake lever after I have tried to bend mine back at the weekend ;)

Thanks for all the tips, I will try and bend the brake lever back at the weekend and if it brakes, get a new one.

Stickers? Had not thought of that? May be tricky as its on a crease?

Thanks for the replys ;)

Anyone know where I could get a cheap brake lever in the UK if I need one?

I cleaned and polished my Kymco so much that it slipped out my hands (and thighs) and damaged it!! >:(

I have had the scooter for over 2 years and it was in mint condition and then just as I'm selling it to upgrade to a 125cc, I do this?

To say I'm gutted is an understatement :'(

Can anyone help with the best way to repair it.

1. - I need a new brake leaver, so wheres the best price?

2. - Do I try sanding the plastic near the footrest or leave it?

3. - Where do I get a touch up paint to match my Kymco?

Any help appreciated as I need to get the best price for my Kymco if I am going to get a 125cc

I have my Kymco back now after the starter relay replacement and it has been better but not great! Starts ok about 90% of the time.

If I get it to start on the first try its fine, its just if I dont it then has troubles?

It had not been run for a few days and then I went out on a hot sunny day to start it. It did not start on the first attempt so I gave it a little longer before flicking the throttle a little but still no good? I then needed to run it for a good 5 seconds and then flick the throttle before it finally started?
I also noticed that when it has just started, if I try and open the throttle it sounds like its going to stall?

The trouble is when I leave it with the dealer and they test it, it starts fine? I'm starting to think its just me? I am a left hander and usually hold the left brake to start it as holding the right is a little awkward for me. I have now switched back to the right brake as it seems to help with starting.

Did I mention before the oil looks a bit high on the dip stick, could that be a problem?

Once its running for a while it runs well though.

I'm trying to sell it at the moment so its not going to look good if it does not start first time!!

Any advise appreciated:)

Contacted Kymco UK directly and they are also saying its an intermittently sticking starter relay and will send my dealer a new one today and replace it under warranty!

Hope this sorts it?

Getting my bike back today as its working at the moment and I hate buses!! and will take it back to dealer next Thursday when on my day off.

Thanks for the replys

I pressed the start button on my Kymco Monday morning and it jammed on!!

Even after turning the ignition off and removing the key, the starter was still turning over?? I had to disconnect the positive battery terminal to get it to stop!

This is the second time this has happened in the last year, and when the dealer collects the bike and connects the battery there is no problem?? I left it 24 hours and when I connected the battery again it turned over with no key??  Dealer collects bike after another 24 hours and works fine?

Does anyone have any ideas whats wrong? Would changing the starter motor fix it?  I just to get it working so I can sell it now as I have had enough of these problems :(

Got it back from the dealers Thursday and it started ok after they changed spark plug again and cleaned carb. They also tested after spraying water on the bike as I did have more problems on a wet day. Friday morning was dry and about 10 degrees and it took over 5 starts to get it going, with the same after work at 6pm.

Saturday was about the same weather and started first time! and at 6pm again started second time!

Here's what it was like when I could not start it last week.

They did tell me when they changed my battery a year ago they used the higher rated one for the 125cc model.

I also think the starter sounds different from when it was new, its just sounds like its chewing the cogs inside??

Anyone had to change a starter motor on one? How much is a new one going to cost?

Fed up now :( I just want to get it working and then sell it now :(

At the dealers at the moment and they have changed the spark plug again and cleaned out the carb and have sprayed with water to see if its the problem? Starting ok most the time with them so leaving it in workshop tonight and testing Thursday morning.

Hope to get back tomorrow as I hate waiting for buses and paying £5 for one day return trip of 5 miles!!

Agility 50 / My Kymco Agility 50 Starting Problem??
« on: February 19, 2012, 01:49:18 PM »
Hello Everyone ;)

I bought my Kymco Agility 50 just over 2 years ago now and apart from the starting problems it has done me well. It’s done about 4500 miles now.

I use it to get to work 5 days a week with just a 5 mile trip each way. For safety reasons I use my full lights all the time. To save the battery I usually kick start it in the morning and electric start at night and this worked well for a while.

At first it would take one for two kick starts or electric starts to get going but now it’s more like 10+ before it runs? The battery had to be changed at 1 year which has helped a bit but over this year I had to have the starter switch replaced as it locked on when starting one day. I had to remove the battery connecters to stop it turning over? It was still the same the next day so I got the dealer to collect it from my house. At the dealer it worked fine but after a few weeks I managed to show them the starter switch would not work all the time, so they changed it.

The last few months the scooter has got even worse at starting. Mainly when its wet or damp it can take me 10-15mins to get it going with me trying both kick and electric start. Again, every time I take it in to the dealer it works fine! I have also noticed that when its damp, and when riding it feels like the engine is hunting (holding back) for a few miles before it goes back to normal? .  The bike is outside all the time, but I do use an Oxford bike cover at night.

I have just had the 2 year service and its now got even worse for starting with it taking 10+ starts to get it running in all weathers! My dealer was supposed to be picking it up Friday from my work but forgot! I hope to get it looked at Monday so would appreciate any one with any advice I can give my dealer as he can’t  find the problem?  Says he will try and get it repaired under Kymco warrantee even though it’s just outside as it’s been a problem for a while.

I just checked the oil level today and looks over the max mark? Would this effect starting? Does anyone thinks it needs a new starter?
Any help appreciated :)
