People 250 / Re: What replacement headlight bulb for 2006 p250?
« on: April 16, 2013, 02:23:08 PM »
welp, answered my own question, but thought I'd post her for the next guy (or gal).

The replacement bulb I bought is a 9003/HB2 H4, rated at 60/55W (non-Silverstar).  The wattage seems to be higher than spec (35W I believe), but in the year I've owned the scooter hasn't seemed to negatively impacted the electrical system or battery.

I am looking to buy the bulb listed on ebay to have as a spare since it's rated at 35W.

As far as the removal of the cowl, there is a screw below the headlight in the front cover and 4 screws going through the handlebar back cover. I had to take my mirrors off as well to get the front cover to clear the mirror posts.

People 250 / What replacement headlight bulb for 2006 p250?

Noticed last night my low beam is out on my '06 p250.  The OEM bulb # is 34901-KFA6-9000.  Anyone know of the equivalent I might find at an auto parts store?  Only other thread on the forum I found mentioning it says an HS1 bulb will work but not sure if that's for the p250 or ps250..

As a side note, I found this listing on ebay for an HS1 H4 rated at the 35W --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/181119481577.  Not sure if it will work or not.  I need to buy a replacement bulb today if possible for my ride home from work but thought for future consideration, perhaps the ebay bulb might be a good h4 replacement.

Lastly, how the heck do you get at the bulb to replace it?  Maybe it'll be obvious to me when I look at it today after a good night's sleep, but last night at 10PM it wasn't so obvious.

thanks,
randy

Amazon.com ngk standard 5129 $4.12 iridium 7803 $7.40 difference $3.28 . Can you afford to take the chance ? Good luck .

juice... not an issue affording it but i'm talking about a low hp, non performance scooter here.

got this to battle $4+ gas period.

my etailer has oem's for a buck n change.

since this is my first scooter of any kind, I have zero frame of reference.

just not one to throw dollars at something cause it's new and expensive so must be better.

so for those of you that've made the switch to the iridium plug - p250 (i have non-S), is it worth the additional costs? can you actually tell a diff in engine behavior?

I've seen posts of people using the newer iridium plug in the p250s. wondering if any issues using in the p250?

just bought my 1st scooter and want to do complete maintenance overhaul.
