People 50 / People 50 Top Plastic Molding creaking?
« on: April 02, 2012, 02:55:54 PM »
Hi all,

I just recently purchased a new Kymco People 50cc LESS than a month ago...

I'm noticing with the warm weather that the plastic molding on top -- the whole painted top piece of plastic that extends out to the handlebars and what not (not sure what this piece of the body molding is called)-- is starting to creak when I'm riding slow or slowing down for a stop. Almost as if the plastic is expanding and compressing throughout the day as the temperature changes. It is quite annoying just because it is so new. It's not an extremely loud noise and I obviously can't hear it while I'm riding at a faster speed but it's extremely noticeable upon stopping or slowing down and going over bumps.

Has anyone else had this problem? Are there bolts from underneath that are possibly coming loose on this piece? Is there a bonding agent that may not be installed properly to hold the painted piece to the regular black plastic piece that surrounds the gauges and what not?

If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about or has had a similar issue PLEASE help me out. I'd love to know if this is solvable or if it's just something I'll have to live with.

Thanks
