People GT 300i / oil filters
« on: June 08, 2014, 09:17:59 PM »
I have 5 HIFLOFILTRO part#566 oil filters for use on People GTi 300 or the Downtown 300. I sold my scooter recently and have these left over. $5.00 for all of them +shipping.

I got one heck of a headache just trying to read through the different ideas you guys have. Whooo! Wouldn't an AGM type battery be a better replacement? No acid to worry about. Just saying.

I'm very curious. What does a "Big Guy" seat conversion look like? Any pictures?

You need to call them and ask if there is a unit made for the Yager.

Yager GT 200i / DrPulley clutch
« on: August 19, 2013, 11:28:09 PM »
Yager 200i, The best clutch you can buy is the DrPulley HiT clutch. I just put one in my 2007 Yamaha Majesty 400. The original clutch on the Yamahas are pretty much junk when they are new and just keep getting worse. You can adjust the point at where they start to engage and you can also adjust the point at which they fully lock up solid. It's all done with different sets of springs. They give you an additional 3 different sets of springs of differing tension. You install the springs that give the results your looking for. The price on mine was $370.00 and worth every penny of it. One for our Yagers should be around $260.00 or so. I'm not sure. Go to the buggypartsnw.com website and contact them about it. When it locks up it is direct and solid and fully adjustable.

Yager GT 200i / Re: Homemade Windshield
« on: August 05, 2013, 05:53:29 PM »
Thanks for the great comments on the windshield everyone. I would be glad to make a paper template of my shield with the size and location of the holes to drill. The only thing is that, first you would have to buy someones take-off original windshield from a 2007 to current Burgman 400 scooter. That in itself wouldn't be that hard to come by, but then you would also have to buy an Isotta windshield or at least the mounting hardware for it. You would use the rubber mounting grommets from the Isotta and your original mini shields grommets to complete the installation. I used a special drill to drill the pilot holes for the grommets and then I carefully hand filed the drilled holes to the final size and location. I had the drill left over from another project. I did all the cutting of the windshield in my bandsaw to the rough outline and then sanded it down by palm sander and hand to the finish profile. It was time consuming but I am very happy with the results. It would be to expensive for most of us to purchase all the components. I just happened to have them at the time. I had to eat the cost of the Isottsa screen which I still have because I used the hardware from it. I would be glad to help anyone over the phone with the process but I don't think you would want to spend the money.

Was the replacement battery a lead acid type battery or the better AGM ones?

It works far better than I ever expected. It's 3mm thick so it's pretty rigid. Certainly no worse than the Isotta windshield. Mileage seems the same as with the small original shield and it looks pretty much like it was OEM to anyone who does't own a Yager.

I made my own windshield for my Yager today. It's made from my original shield off of my old 400 Burgman scooter. I had to trim away on all four sides to get it down to fit. It must be pretty aerodynamic because it didn't take any thing away from top speed, 72mph. I was able to make use of the hardware from my unused Isotta windshield. Good body and face protection. What do you think of it?

Yager GT 200i / Installed sliders today
« on: July 21, 2013, 04:24:15 AM »
I got to see how 16gr sliders work in my Yager today. Very well thank you. Just like they worked in my 2007 400 Burgman. Better pickup at takeoff and 4 to 500 less rpm at 65mph. The Yager is so easy to work on compared to the Burgman.

Yager GT 200i / Re: Yager Rollers 16 gm or 17.5 gm?
« on: July 10, 2013, 04:55:29 PM »
My Yager engages at 4000rpm also and that's the way it was since new. You don't have much low end torque at anything under 4000rpm so that is why the factory set it up that way. A larger engine like your 250 has greater low end torque plus it may have been tuned for greater torque and less high rpm power from the factory besides. Transmission gearing could be lower also. All these factors come in to play when comparing one scooters engagement rpm from the others. I did a lot of playing around with the DrPulley HiT clutch in my 07 400 Burgman. You could set it to engage at almost any rpm you wanted to.

The cable is attached to the left side of the front wheel. I was just wondering if everyone elses scooter reacts the same erratic way. I don't expect all that much for the $3000.00 I paid for it. Thanks for your consideration of it anyway.

Yager GT 200i / speedometer

Does anyone elses speedometer seem to jump up or down by three mph instead of increments of 1 mph every time the number changes? It seems to do it at random speeds not always the same places. Could it need to have the cable lubricated. Just wondering if it's supposed to be like that. Doesn't seem right.
